Hello,

I was telling Aeliana about the blood I saw and the squeezing noises I heard, but she disappeared before I could tell her about my Clown Dad’s music box! I didn’t see her again all day yesterday and I haven’t seen her today. I asked my parents if they knew where she was and they said they didn’t know.

Well, today started pretty boring without her. Nobody at school talks to me except for the teachers and the kids who are mean to me, so when recess came, I ran out the gates.

I wanted to go back home and watch TV. I knew that my fathers weren’t going to be there because they’re always very busy when I’m out in school and when I go to sleep, so I would be alone.

I like to be with my parents and Aeliana but I also like to be by myself. I can think all by myself.

I turned the TV on when I got home and was sewing up dresses for my dolls. My human-ish Dad sews up my body parts sometimes so I know how to sew. Everything was fine until I was falling.

Yes, that’s what happened! I was sitting on the floor and when I tried to grab some pink threads for a dress, my claw slipped and then I wasn’t in the living room anymore! It was very dark and there were all these dolls floating around me, like the dolls my human-ish Dad make! There was all this whispering and crying and they wouldn’t stop! I kept trying to tell them to stop but they wouldn’t listen. They don’t listen in my Clown-Dad’s carnival either.

I got scared that I was going to be trapped forever so I almost cried, but then I got back home. I’m glad that I didn’t cry. I don’t like crying.

I still didn’t tell my parents about the thing that happened to me after school yesterday. I don’t know if I want to tell them about this either. Do you want to know what I did when I stopped falling? I turned off the TV, put my stuff away, and hid in the thorn bushes next to our house until my parents got home. Then I got out later and pretended that I went to school.

I don’t want to tell them because I feel like they’ll be mad at me for skipping school. I’m not supposed to skip school. What if I was dreaming and I didn’t fall? Sometimes my dreams can be long and scary. I think that’s what happened before too. My fathers told me that I can’t let my dreams “get to me.” I try not to but it still happens.

I don’t want to think about this for a long time either. I wish Aeliana was here. I hope she comes back tomorrow.

I want to see her again.

Goodbye,

Raisa Accardi.

I only know that learning to believe in the power of my own words has been the most freeing experience of my life. It has brought me the most light. And isn't that what a poem is? A lantern glowing in the dark.
