Nina sat next to her chattering friends in the cafeteria, drawing pictures of Jeff Woods.
Sometimes, boys asked her out. But none of them were as handsome as Jeff. Jeff, with his bloody smile and glass-white eyes.
All of the boys who asked her out dressed as though they got their clothes from the dumpster, and smelled like it, too.
Nina’s friends all attracted the school’s definition of “attractive”. But even then, she didn’t want them. She wanted someone who was on her level, someone who would get her.
Mom said to put on more makeup and do her hair nicer, because that would attract the “handsome” boys and repel the “ugly” boys. She said that it was how guys worked, and if one guy looked at her, they wouldn’t be attracted.
Nina tried telling her that the words were hurtful, but Mom didn’t listen. She said it was “the truth”.
She wasn’t going to put on makeup. She wasn’t going to change herself.
She would wait for Jeff, no matter how long that took.

Hello again, Creeper!! I'll be checking out more Nina / Jeff stories today!
To start, alright, we're getting more of an idea of Nina's day-to-day life here! Sounds like the Jeff obsession is stronger than I thought, even from her attempted summoning lol. But she does have a positive message to bring, through her school dynamic, that kinda reminds me of how Jeff handled his own!
I don't have any recommendations for change, so let's dive into highlights!
Although I have concerns about what "one her level" could imply here, if that level is Jeff, this actually makes me feel bad for Nina, because it sounds like this obsession of hers really just stems from loneliness, and feeling like the outcast. Poor girl...
I do like this positivity about not wanting to change her look to attract certain attention! Good on you, Nina!
Overall, that was neat! I'm excited to dive into what looks like Nina's whole novelette or novella by now, it sounds like it's gonna be fun and a little chaotic, from what I've seen so far! Nicely done!

Hm, I remember in one of the previous chapters it’s stated that Jeff doesn’t kill those that “get it”. I am getting (haha) the feeling that Nina is such a person. She does get it.
I don’t vibe with her mom at all. She’s really inconsiderate. As if she doesn’t understand what teenagers are :/
I think this snippet actually works well as a standalone 😊
Exactly she doesn%u2019t understand Nina. That%u2019s kind of a factor in Nina liking guys like Jeff.
