And so, it begins (part one: LJ’s POV)

*This fanfic is underneath my folder titled “Creepypasta stuff”. Laughing Jack is a Creepypasta character and this is my AU of him talking to a child he’s about to kill to use her soul for a child that he is created with another Creepypasta character, Jason the Toymaker (yes this is a ship and I’m making a fanchild). Aeliana is my OC. Gacha Club character designs are under this forum: https://www.youngwriterssociety.com/topic/117842-my-character-designs-lt-33-3?start=105. Enjoy!*

Laughing Jack sat on Aeliana’s bed, because like most children, she couldn’t sleep on her own. She moved from a nightmare that he gave her about his carnival and knew that she’d stir awake at moment.

He brushed off a strand of blond hair from her sweaty face as he felt the trickle of black smoke form all around them and under them into a smoke cloud, carrying them off to his carnival.

I finished creating her. The last thing we need is her soul. How much longer?

I told you, this can’t be rushed. But now is a good time. I’ll come back with her tonight.

The conversation he and Jason had spiraled in his mind like the broken down rollercoasters in his circus dimension.  Aeliana was a morbidly timid child who cried every other day because her friends were not friends to her and the world frightened her so. Laughing Jack suspected that he was her only friend.

“I don’t know why they want me to be mean. It’s not funny!”

“Because they’re not clowns like me. They don’t know what funny is. Pay them no mind!”

He had laughed after he said that, as he did after most words he said, because wasn’t it funny how much she came to him after every incident? Like he would somehow be able to fix things by being there for her!

It wasn’t a surprise that she was being treated the way she was. Humans were not genuine creatures. If anything, she should have been grateful for what he was going to do to her. She wouldn’t, he knew it. They never were.

What would their child be like, when they used her soul? Laughing Jack hoped that she wouldn’t be scared the way Aeliana was. A terrified child would do no good with them. Maybe she’d be a good listener.  Humans thought about themselves ever since the day they were born, so he and Jason would be sure that she would be nothing like that. She’d be a good child.

“Why are we in your carnival?”

The smoke had finally cleared. They were standing in the carnival, the sky dark except for thin, weak streaks of moonlight. Aeliana clung to his pants leg with a tightness that’d be hard to shake off.

He flashed her a full smile, jagged teeth and all and said:

“Because we’re going to meet someone very special. Stay with me.”

She was afraid of his teeth at first, but he told her not to be, so she wasn’t. He could tell her anything and she’d believe it! Faster than other children, too!

Aeliana looked up at him with red, watery eyes. He could see all the little veins in them, pulsing with life that was too obnoxiously bright.

“Who?”

“You’ll see. Come on.”

He began walking towards Jason’s tent, one he fashioned after the day they met. Jason wasn’t there often, but he’d be there that night. It was their plan.

And Laughing Jack was just as tired as Jason was of waiting. His patience had worn thin and the children clung to him like a dead weight.

Dead weight. He chuckled to himself at that. She wouldn’t be living much longer.

Ohhh Aeliana time! Let’s go!

Such a fitting comparison:

spiraled in his mind like the broken down rollercoasters in his circus dimension

I feel like, despite knowing all the characters and how you denote them talking, this story is super confusing. It doesn’t really come across that it is Jason and LJ talking in bold and italic and I also don’t really see the connection in this sentence to what was said before?
He had laughed after he said that, as he did after most words he said, because wasn’t it funny how much she came to him after every incident?

Hmmm I wonder if the lack of a soul makes Aelinana in Raisa’s Diary Entries the way she is?
Or is this… after the diary entries and Raisa is the one without a soul? I feel like you could try and give a better hint into where we are in the timeline and just what it MEANS here? It feels like such an important character but I am completely lost o_o
