I’ve rotted to the deepest part of me
What am I but crawling bugs and dirty candy?
A hatred for the world carried like a disease
Children screech and scream, won’t leave me be
Expected to smile like I still have love within
But maybe I do
For I get the loveliest feelings when I see you
Under the blinking lights of the carousel, I wait for you
Stuffed toys watch with wide eyes
As I take you close
For I am yours and you are mine
A love like this will never die
For once, the hate in me quells
You are the one who understands
Your wooden heart turns with music when you see me
I can feel the strings inside me breaking
Come and join me, together we will be
Me and you and you and me

Geez, this is a blast to the past. I was a huge Creepypasta kid back in the day, always love seeing new material about the stories I grew up with popping up.
There's a delightful irony about a beautiful love poem between two murderers with dark pasts. The contrast between gross and disturbing quotes and sweet confessions is stark, but appreciated. It creates a unique blend that's part horrifying, part endearing, and part hilarious.
On a side note, shipping is massive within the Creepypasta community. Anyone can go on Youtube or Tumblr or Deviantart and find thousands of videos of characters like these engaging with each other romantically. Where those lose me is when they forget what exactly the character's they're shipping have done. No longer are they murderous or scary, they just become two regular, quirky people with interesting designs and a relationship. At that point, why bother involving Creepypasta characters at all?
I think that's where you hit the mark. You remembered who these characters were and portrayed them that way, on TOP OF writing a love poem. It's far more appropriate and is why you nailed the contrast between horror, romance, and humor so well.
Anyways, thank you for the nostalgic and well written poem. Like Ellie Mae said, I love the word choice here and I don't spot any technical problems. Have a wonderful day!
So glad you enjoyed! I like to ship a few (not a lot) of Creepypasta characters together, and I understand why some people may not want to ship in Creepypasta because they forget that the characters are murderers. I myself have felt the same way.
If there is any Creepypasta ship happening, then yes, it will be romantic, but still horrifying. It%u2019s something of a%u2026supernatural horror romance, if that makes sense.
But again, I am so glad you liked this!! :>
Hey there! This was such a lovely song of yours. I always love these, that you post! What really stood out to me about this one, was, I can see so much growth in your language that you use. You use some really cool words here, like talking about quell. I found that you were extremely descriptive. Let me share some of my favorite parts:
This is so descriptive. Feels like this person is almost a puppet or something not human, but even when they see this person these not human parts of them work somehow. I liked how you describe wooden hearts turning with music. It really feels like a song. It also feels very romantic, but calm and simple, but well collected and well written.
I love this opening a lot too. It's as if this person is unable to feel emotions anymore, because they're so rotted and not human. Like they carry this disease of being unlovable. They're expected to love and show emotions, but they can't. At least, and totally fall in love. Perhaps that's what changed everyth I love this so so much! We have so many expectations for how people should act and things should be, but sometimes people are just in capable of that. Expectations can be very overwhelming, but perhaps being cared for and loved can change things.
Overall, this was lovely, and I really enjoyed it! Keep writing, and I can't wait to read your next one!
Your friend,
Ellie
So glad you enjoyed!
