Why was her mind riddled with strange creatures? What was it that her parents warned her about? What was the strange claw that reached out to her?
Aeliana shot up, gripping the sheets close to her chest. Her forehead was dripping with sweat, her eyes were wide with terror.
She knew of only one creature with a black claw. But then, such being only cared for her. All he ever did was show her kindness and gift her candies. Sure, he looked and sounded strange, but that didn’t make him a monster, did it?
“Bad dreams again?” A familiar croaking voice asked.
“Bad dreams again.” Aeliana said, cuddling into his chest.
Laughing Jack stroked her hair and began singing old nursery rhymes, his raspy voice surprisingly calm and melodic.
With him around, she wouldn’t have any bad dreams. He wouldn’t leave till the morning and then they would play!
Thank goodness he came.

Okay, this is definitely interesting. I know I remember you writing about laughing Jack before, I can't remember exactly in what context, but either he's busy tormenting a bunch of different people or he is still on this same girl. I can't tell if this is supposed to be a bad thing or not though. Aeliana seems to have some sort of romantic relationship with this being, correct me if I'm wrong. Those last three lines make me feel like he's not there for good things though. I don't know, saying that they would play in the morning sounds a little creepy. I kind of feel like laughing Jack is who her parents warned her about. I'm not positive though, is she a little kid? Because if so, it'd make it even weirder that he's in her room in the middle of the night. I genuinely can't tell though if he's meant to be a good guy or a bad guy though, I feel like he's a bad guy that's tricking her though, and her parents somehow know about this. Either way, this is a very good little short story, nice easy read, does make you think a little bit though, good job.
Laughing Jack is a living stuffed clown doll. Aeliana is a child and he is her %u201Cimaginary%u201D friend. Only she knows about him.

Ok ok I am writing review answers but I remembered Aeliana from Raisa’s diary and figured I would check out what here deal is, real quick!
I like the italics beginning of the chapter! Feels very fitting!
Oha! Okay, I do like this piece, I like how it shows her realiance on LJ and that he’s always there with her (and yet she has a night mare… abt him I guess?) so this could be a hint that their relationship will sour.
I am also no longer sure if this fits with Raisa’s storyline or not since if LJ is hovering over Aeliana, he has no time to take care of Raisa. Then again, Raisa has a second dad to watch her hmmmmm Now I do wonder how this all fits together~
*edit* ok ok ok, none of Raisa's stories show up in the recommended reading so this might be a separate universe after all!
