Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the websites and services operated by Young Writers Society ("YWS," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.
Eligibility
You must be old enough to use our services under the laws that apply to you. If you are under the age required in your jurisdiction, you may use YWS only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.
Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when registering and to keep your account information up to date. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised or used without authorization.
Acceptable use
You agree to use YWS in a respectful and lawful manner. You may not post, upload, or share content that is abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, harassing, infringing, or otherwise unlawful. You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts, interfere with the operation of the site, scrape or harvest data without permission, or use automated means to access the service except as we expressly allow.
User content
You retain ownership of the creative work and other content you submit to YWS, subject to any licenses you grant to us as needed to operate the site. By posting content, you grant YWS a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the community. You represent that you have the rights necessary to post your content and that doing so does not violate any law or third-party rights.
Moderation
We may remove, edit, move, or restrict access to any content or account at our discretion, including when we believe content or conduct violates these Terms, our community standards, or applicable law. We are not obligated to monitor all user activity, but we reserve the right to do so.
Third-party services
YWS may offer sign-in or other features through third-party providers, such as Google. Your use of those services is also subject to the provider's own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services or websites linked from YWS.
Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Intellectual property
Except for user-submitted content, the YWS name, logos, site design, and other materials are owned by us or our licensors and may not be copied, modified, or used without permission. Please see our Copyright Policy for more information about content on the site.
Disclaimer of warranties
YWS is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, YWS and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
Termination
You may stop using YWS at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if necessary to protect the community, our users, or our services.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date below and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of YWS after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
