16+ Violence

It’s a shame, isn’t it? :(

Warning: This work has been rated 16+ for violence.

*This fanfic is underneath my folder titled “Creepypasta stuff”. Gacha Club character designs are under this forum: https://www.youngwriterssociety.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=116005&start=1500 . These characters are already in a story made by the creator of Laughing Jack. You can type “Laughing Jack story Snuffbomb (OG creator name) Deviantart” if you want to read the original story, which is in the Mom’s POV. This fanfic I did is in the perspective of the little boy. Anyway, enjoy!*

James didn’t want to sleep.

Mommy was getting mad at him more often now. It wasn’t her fault, but he still wished that she didn’t get mad at him.

Laughing Jack seemed like a nice friend when they first met. They played games together. He told him all sorts of jokes and stories.

Then he moved his toys around. James kept telling him not to do it, but he laughed, like he always did, and moved the toys around anyway.

Mommy asked him about it. He told her the truth, but he knew that she didn’t believe him. He wished that she did. Then this could have been easier.

Laughing Jack was also jealous of Fido, his dog. He told James that clowns were much better than dogs, because they could talk and do all sorts of things, while dogs were just “stupid animals that did nothing”.

When he and Mommy got home one time, they found that the kitchen was very messy and Fido was dead, his guts all over the entire room.

Mommy didn’t know what happened, but James knew. He tried telling Mommy, but she was too busy calling the police.

It was Laughing Jack. Laughing Jack destroyed their kitchen and killed Fido. James told him not to be bad, but he did it anyway.

He should have never left Laughing Jack alone that day. Then it wouldn’t have happened.

James was mad at him for a little bit. Only for a little bit. He didn’t want to be mad forever, because being mad wasn’t fun.

They continued to play games like nothing happened, until one day, when Mommy saw James with the candy that Laughing Jack gave him.

He told her where it was from when she asked, but of course she didn’t believe him.

Laughing Jack didn’t like that. He didn’t want James to talk about their friendship at all.

Laughing Jack gave him nightmares. About blood, screaming, and sharp nails inside skin. James had wet his bed like a baby and cried. He couldn’t help it, the nightmare was just that awful. Mommy heard and tried to make him happy again.

It worked for a little bit, but when she left, the nightmares continued.

Mommy didn’t want him to talk about Laughing Jack. She kept telling him that he was fake, but he wasn’t. He was real. James hugged him, held his claw, and rode on his shoulders when they were playing.

He was real.

And now he was out to get James.

James stared at the dark ceiling. His ceiling wasn’t actually dark. It was plain white. The lights were just turned off.

He didn’t want to turn the lights on, because he knew that he’d see a clown man with sharp teeth and long claws sitting on his bed, smiling at him. Waiting for him.

A claw stroked his hair.

“Get off me.” James said. He didn’t want Laughing Jack to touch him.

He continued to stroke his hair.

“Go away!” James wailed. Why wouldn’t he just leave?

He felt two big claws pick him up. Suddenly, he felt someone carrying him.

“Put me down!” James cried. He punched and kicked with all his might, but Laughing Jack wouldn’t let go.

His back was thrown on the closet door. Laughing Jack held him up. James could see him more now. The moonlight was streaming through his window, so he could see more of Laughing Jack.

Laughing Jack was smiling. He had something in one of his claws.

He opened his claw. Two rusty nails gleamed back at him.

James didn’t know what they were for. He didn’t want to know.

Laughing Jack placed one of the nails on the ground and took out a hammer from his pocket.

Then, with the hammer and the nail he was holding, he began to beat the nail into one of his hands.

It felt like a paper cut, but like the paper cut was growing bigger and bigger and spreading all over his body.

It really hurt.

“Mommy! Help!”

“Your Mommy can’t hear you. She’s asleep.”

Was she having a nightmare? The kind that he had? Even worse?

If it was even worse than his nightmares, then it was bad.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

He couldn’t really see anything now. It was all blurry and red.

James could see Laughing Jack’s black and white colors. He looked like a splotch of paint.

He was cackling like a witch, too.

The door burst open. Mommy ran in, holding what looked like a knife.

She was crying. He could hear her crying.

She tried to hit Laughing Jack with the knife, but instead of hitting him, she hit James instead.

It hurt so bad. It was even worse than what Laughing Jack did. It felt like a really big splinter was inside of him.

But what hurt even more was that Mommy was crying.

Mommy didn’t mean to hurt him. He knew that.

James wished that he could tell Mommy everything was okay, but he couldn’t speak.

He loved her so much.

If only he didn’t ask for a friend, then this wouldn’t happen. If only he was happy with Fido and Mommy, then he wouldn’t be dying.

James couldn’t even cry.

Had a pretty busy morning so my reviews are a bit late. But here we go :3
I remember the first part of this story well (not least bc I just rechecked it hehe) so let’s do this!

And again you have a repetition of “getting mad” right in the first paragraph which I feel is not the best way to start a chapter?

It might be better to give at least one name here? Bc both your characters use he/him pronouns, this could be confusing:

Then he moved his toys around.

Oh mannn poor dog ☹ Also yes, I see why LJ is evil, even if he appeared so …nice in the first part of this. And it sounds like James is actively pushing back against him but it’s too late. He’s stuck with LJ now…. I wonder if there is actually a way to escape him once LJ starts targeting you?

Uhm what is the purpose of this paragraph?
It was Laughing Jack. Laughing Jack destroyed their kitchen and killed Fido. James told him not to be bad, but he did it anyway.

Then, with the hammer and the nail he was holding, he began to beat the nail into one of his hands.
…into his …own hand?
Also the logistics of how the mother managed to stab her own child aren’t well described. In general, I feel like this second part was really lacking in descriptions, as if you had trouble detaching yourself from the source material.

I did feel for James, poor child, so rly good job on that front!

I'm sucker for horror, I love it and I don't know why in a way I love but in another way I don't.

I love the drama, oh will James ghost come back or will laughing Jack take his soul before that can happened? But didn't laughing Jack in the last bit say he wouldn't hurt James? I would lean into that maybe just bad things happen to James after he became friends with Laughing Jack and maybe Jack doesn't nail James hands as it seems he does here? I mean unless laughing Jack was harming himself and somehow that hurt James, I don't know.

Yes I have no idea what LJ is sorry.

Laughing Jack is a demonic clown who befriends children so he can gain their trust over time. Then he brutally kills them. He targets adults too but mostly children. You can Google him if you like to learn more about his lore, but yes, he%u2019s pretty evil.

Thx for reading!
