Laughing Jack and Aeliana talk about friendship

*This fanfic is under my folder titled “Creepypasta stuff”. Laughing Jack is a Creepypasta character created by Snuffbomb. Aeliana is a character created by me. Gacha Club character designs are under my forum titled “My character designs<33[2]”. Enjoy!*

Laughing Jack sat next to Aeliana on the bed, for it was the very first night that they would spend time together and so, he wanted to be there for the child every step of the way.

Especially if she couldn’t sleep.

In that moment, Laughing Jack searched the inner workings of what served as his brain for something to talk about, something to say to her. Conversations weren’t easy for him, but if he came up with something on the spot, then usually everything went well.

“Are you afraid of me?” Laughing Jack asked. It was a good question to ask, that question showed a lot about the child’s personality.

Aeliana raised an eyebrow at him as if she couldn’t quite why he was asking such a question, then she said:

“No. But why do you ask?”

“Only because many children are afraid of me. My height, my teeth, my claws. They’re scared of what I may do to hurt them, but I’m the kindest clown I know. I have fears just like them. I’m afraid of being forgotten. Of being left to rot in some place dusty and dark. It horrifies me. See, I just want to help children be happier with themselves. Now…what are you afraid of?”

Had he revealed too much? Would she open up more? He needed her to open up, he had to have more information about her.

“The same thing. My friends aren’t very nice but they’re all I have. They talked to me when no one else did. I’m scared of being alone or making them mad.” Aeliana said. She said in a calm voice, but Laughing Jack could sense the underlying anxiety in her words, the self-doubt in her bones. It was the same kind of terror he felt in the box, many centuries ago.

“Well, you can count on me to always be your friend. I will never make you feel bad or leave you behind. Friends aren’t supposed to feel like a prison. You’ll question yourself and wonder if you had done something wrong, if you didn’t hold onto your friends as tightly as you should have, but if you feel like severing the friendship thread, then do so. Unbind yourself from their shackles and know that I shall stay your friend, no matter what.”

He didn’t know if words would do anything to make her trust him more, so he opened up a portal to his decayed carnival with his claws, because he knew that when words failed, magic would always get on the children’s good side.

“It may be broken, my carnival, but it is still worth exploring. I know it’s late, but would you like to go on an adventure?”

Aeliana rubbed off the sleep in her eyes and nodded.

And so, off they went.

I saw Laughing Jack so I come a running. Since i saw Aelina I figured this is either more backstory or a continuation of the magic show from last night, so I was happy to see this is the events leading up to that.

Laughing Jack is quite the sneaky little clown. It feels like so much of what he says is right, and yet there's an underlying gnawing feeling that it can both two things at once: true and manipulating.

Alina having what seems like.rocky friendships does help explain why she's drawn to him. Anything is better than boredom or backstabbing friends. One tiny note: at the beginning of the story it seems that Aelina cant sleep, and thats why Jack tries so hard to win her over, but then at the end it says that she rubbed sleep from her eyes. Kinda feels like a contradiction.

I am curious why Laughing Jack speaks in bold fonr. I noticed it in every story so far, except the pledge which I would assume is written word so it would be bold as well. It does stand out and add some visual interest and a sense of authority to him though i suppose.

~Messy

I just did bold font for his demonic-sounding voice. ^v^ I meant that she has crust in her eyes from trying to sleep.

Hello, My Friend!

As a heads up, you're probably gonna get another boatload of notifications from me today XD

Anyway, hi Creeper! I'm here today to continue catching up in the Jason-LJ saga!

To start, this was a great little continuation of Aeliana and Jack's budding friendship, and a cute note of how Jack can relate to her feelings of loneliness and isolation!

For technicalities, I have no recommendations to make for this one! It reads great as-is!

Now, highlights and favorite parts, I'll have to say...

Only because many children are afraid of me. My height, my teeth, my claws. They’re scared of what I may do to hurt them, but I’m the kindest clown I know. I have fears just like them. I’m afraid of being forgotten. Of being left to rot in some place dusty and dark. It horrifies me.

Aw, poor Jack. The memories this evokes, of his time in the box, are so sad, and really remind you of one of the main reasons Jack is like this in the first place.

My friends aren’t very nice but they’re all I have. They talked to me when no one else did. I’m scared of being alone or making them mad.”

Likewise, poor Aeliana! I love how you chose to make her plight so relatable to Laughing Jack's, it makes this "friendship" all the more intruiging ~

“It may be broken, my carnival, but it is still worth exploring. I know it’s late, but would you like to go on an adventure?”

Yesss, the creepy carnival exploration! This part immediately makes Balloon Animals by Madame Macabre start playing in my head lol (I know it's not an LJ song, I don't think she ever did one for him, but the vibes are similar!)

Overall, that was great, and I can't wait to see what's next! Nicely done! :D

Thus concludes my review. To leave off, here are some inspiring quotes, courtesy of your resident Poe freak ~

"They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night."
"Words have no power to impress the mind without the exquisite horror of their reality.”
"I would define, in brief, the poetry of words as the rhythmical creation of Beauty."

I%u2019m very glad you enjoyed and sadly, you are right about Madame Macabre not ever making a song for LJ. The song you are referencing is a song for the Creepypasta %u201CCandy Pop%u201D and I%u2019m pretty sure Candy Cane, too. Or is it Candy Pop and April Fools? I%u2019m not sure.

But I do see how the song can remind you of him! I certainly wish she did make a song about LJ! He truly is an underrated Creepypasta in that regard! That%u2019s alright, I make songs and poems and fanfics about him! :>

Thought so, man I wish she did, she had such banger songs for so many others :(

But indeed, at least we have you to rep LJ! :D

Of course! I love making stuff about my favorite Creepypasta! ^v^
