16+ Violence

In Creepypasta stuff

Warning: This work has been rated 16+ for violence.

*This fanfic is under my folder “Creepypasta stuff”. Gacha Club character designs are under this forum: https://www.youngwriterssociety.com/topic/117842-my-character-designs-lt-33-3?start=345. I’ll post more about my OC Lani sometime. James is from a canon online story about Laughing Jack that is simply called “Laughing Jack”. Anyway, enjoy and Happy Spooky Season!*

Hello there, humans. My name is Lani Beckett and I am ten years old. At least, that’s how old I was when I died. Yep, that’s right. I’m dead.

Now, I died in 2007 and the year that I’m typing this is 2026. If I were alive I’d be…twenty-eight years old! So, I am a twenty-eight year old woman trapped in the body of a ten year old girl. Poor me, I know.

But anyways, let’s get to all of the juicy details! How I died, why I’m typing this, what I hope to achieve in the long run, all that good stuff!

Okay, so I’m sure you all know this horror movie trope: A creepy little kid can see and talk to ghosts and all other supernatural entities. Well, that was me! I could see and talk to ghosts among other things! People were either afraid of me or disgusted by me, but honestly, I hated it. It wasn’t like I wanted to be “that creepy kid”. I just wanted to have friends and get invited to sleepovers like everybody else. I just didn’t want to feel like a freak. It didn’t help that my older brother, Tyler, who was seventeen at the time but who I imagine is now thirty-five, bullied me. Ha! I can’t believe it! Loud-mouthed Tyler who always blasted his electric guitar, thirty-five years old! It’s hilarious!

I have to make fun of my brother now so I can feel better about what happened to me then. Anyway, my parents were okayyy…until my Dad died. Then my Mom went ahead and married this other guy who I didn’t like purely because he wasn’t my father. Sure, he was my stepfather, but he never actually talked to me or Tyler. He was just “there” and yet I still hated him. A pretty silly reason to hate someone, isn’t it?

But you know what? There were some ghosts who were chill, some ghosts I could talk to. Only some, though. The rest wanted to jump scare me by showing me their brutally and graphically murdered bodies or just straight-up banshee screaming. Cheery childhood memories, I know. Don’t worry, it gets sooo much worse from here!

Because guess what? LAUGHING JACK visited me! Who is Laughing Jack? A gangly black-and-white striped clown with a stupid cone nose, as gothic, tall and thin as a Tim Burton character. He murders children and sometimes adults because he can’t get over how his childhood best friend from the 1800s didn’t believe in him and the power of “love and joy” and became a murderer, so he takes it out on a bunch of random people because deep down, he’s a big baby. More so of a baby than us children, I should say.

I didn’t even trust him at first. Who would? With his stinky mildew-smell and raspy voice? I mean, his skin was so leathery that his wrinkles had wrinkles! But then, he was so nice and so understanding to me that I thought “Don’t judge a book by its cover! Maybe he smells bad and is ugly but it’s not his fault! Maybe he’s just a really nice guy on the inside!” and all that shiz.

A word of advice: Don’t trust the TV shows or books when they tell you “not to judge a book by its cover” all the time. ESPECIALLY when it’s a magical clown being like Laughing Jack!

Even when Laughing Jack was murdering me, I didn’t give up. I bit him, I kicked him, I screamed, but the clown has more power than me and eventually, he won.

I haunt this crappy amusement park carnival with a bunch of other dead kids. Occasionally, we’ll see Laughing Jack bring a poor, frazzled parent who got stuck into his nightmare world or an annoying edgy teenage fan who thinks that they’ll get to date him and be his “partner in crime” or something cringe like that. I’d rather see the parent than the teen because teenage fans get on my nerves. They don’t understand that Laughing Jack doesn’t give a shiz about them and never will. What’s more is that the teens are completely insensitive and disrespectful towards us ghost kids, not caring at all that we were ripped away from our families and absolutely slaughtered to death because “Omg the emo clown likes me!!! I will get to kill with him and be super edgy with him and nobody will understand us and blah blah blah!!!”

I apologize about that. I had to get it out of my system. What was I saying? Right, I remember now.

Me and the other kids try our best to lead anybody who wanders into this carnival towards safety. Anybody and everybody, including those teens whose throats I want to rip off. We all have a common belief that nobody should suffer the same fate we did. Also, we just don’t want to deal with insufferable teenagers. Some of us even had teenage older siblings, so yes, there’s no need to relive that.

We can’t save everybody, though. There are more instances where Laughing Jack will kill a human before we can save them, but we try our very best. We always try to never give up hope, even when things look bleak. I guess that’s the childish nature within us.

How am I typing all of this if I’m in an abandoned carnival? Simple. James, one of the dead kids and the only death to be documented online in 2013, found a cell phone in the carnival that a teenager left behind and also found that the phone still had service! Can you believe that? It almost seems too good to be true, but he didn’t deny that golden opportunity!

James told all of us about it and suggested that we take turns typing on this phone and documenting about everything that happens here online, so that more people can be aware of our existence and not think that we’re mindless zombies who follow Laughing Jack’s bidding (seriously, I don’t know how that ridiculous rumor started) and so that maybe the right person or people can find our messages and maybe reach out to us with a means to defeat Laughing Jack and break free from his carnival.

Because although there are many of us, we’re just ghost children against an all-powerful clown entity. We would appreciate if there were people out there who knew just the right thing to do to end the life of a malevolent creature. Maybe the adults at the local asylum will be able to find this and help us out! After all, James’ Mom documented what happened to her and her son at the asylum, so they must have internet access there. It’d be nice to have a living, breathing adult help us out, especially ones at the asylum who may have seen some darker things than us. But we’re willing to take the help from anybody.

Please, please. I am practically BEGGING you…don’t skip this! I don’t want to spend one more second with that infuriating clown!
