In poem

Hey, this poem is about my dog who died today, so If you don't like it, I honestly don't care as this is just a way for me to vent. Thanks

You get instructions to deal with stress,
or how to run a PC.
Their is a manual for a toaster,
a kettle and a fridge.
Why has no-one written a manual on
how to deal with death.

It hit my like car crash
and broke all my insides.
I'd check to see if I was bleeding
but I know that I'd just cry.
I am constantly swimming,
in a sea of tears.
You used to always be there
to chase away my fears.

Around my wrist
I have your collar.
On which it says your name.
I will miss you forever
mister Max and it will
never be the same.

They said you were so nasty,
so naughty and so bad.
But you stick by me
and you never got me mad.
They gave you a needle
straight into your neck.
You fell right into a sleep,
and your heart stopped right there.

I need an instruction manual,
on how to deal with death.
No-one will ever come close,
you were much more than just my pet.

Hello there, Retro.

Oh, my. I'm terribly sorry for your loss. It made me to remember a book I was reading a while ago, and forgive me, it had the same ending process as with your dog.

Now going back, I have to say the poem is really good. The imageries and the flow you've set in here are very impressive and well-balanced out. The emotion here has been flowing very well, and I know you've put a lot of inspirations and handwork here. Though, I would just like to nitpick some for corrections.

There is a manual for a toaster,
a kettle and a fridge.

It hit me like car crash
and broke all my insides

Kicking aside those nitpicks, this is really good, emotional in a good way. I know that it's hard to accept things like that, because I too once had a dog. Just keep your faith and hopes high. :smt001

I'm so sorry. :c

I actually had a dog named Max when I was little.. I remember when he died, I was a mess.. a complete, sprawling mess of tears and snot.

I think that this is a great tribute to your Max. :)

I remember when my mom ran over my hunting dog. It was horrible, I think I cried for weeks. Trooper had survived snake bite, constipation (he ate too many rats, poor thing), and a spectacular kick by my horse that sent him flying through the air.

However, he couldn't survive the back tire of a Suburban.

So, I feel your pain. Although when you think about it, Max seems to have gone peacefully, and that is a blessing, since I would never wish for another person's friend to end the way Trooper did.

Anyway, nice poem. I wish someone had written me some instuctions on how to grieve for Trooper.

Very beautiful poem! It reminds me of my fish who died a couple of years ago. From that day on I knew how much you could love a fish and how much you could love. When I had no inspiration I always looked at the way it swam etc. Anyway.. I think it is a very good structure, it is nice to read and well, it is just a good poem! Keep on writing I like your work!
