You read the title right. R.E.D is back and better than ever. This time, the duration of the contest is shorter and the stakes are higher, but the basic premise is still there. If you don't know what R.E.D is, don't worry! It'll all be explained. You may see that this is R.E.D Round Two, but you don't have to have participated in the original round of R.E.D to join now, but if you were, all the better!
The premise and acronym behind R.E.D. says it all in the title: Review Every Day or in short as you know it, R.E.D. This is a contest with the idea for you to attempt to write a review every day to get you into the habit of giving constructive criticism regularly. There are benefits that come outside of this contest when it comes to reviewing, such as emptying out the Green Room and earning new review stars!
Like last time, there is an official penalty if you miss a certain amount of days or reviews consecutively. This time, the stakes are higher due to the contest being shorter, so be on your guard! If you go three days without reviewing in this contest, you must donate 200 points to the Contest account. Every day after this adds on to the fine in increments of 75. So, say if you miss three days, you only have to pay 200 points. But if you miss four days? You have to pay 275 points. (And if you miss five days, then you must pay 350, so on and so forth. You got the idea, right? )
After awhile, it really starts to add up, so it encourages you even more to be consistent with your reviewing! Of course, if you have some sort of other event in your life that's keeping you from reviewing (such as a family meeting or just simply that you have somewhere else more important to be), then you can go ahead and send a PM to the Contest account so it won't be counted against your reviewing tally!
Of course, at the end of the contest, all of the points that go into the Contest account, whether they be donated by free will or by participants in the contest not reviewing, will be divided amongst the three winners of the contest.
First Place, with the most reviews, will get 50 percent of all the points in the account, along with five reviews from one of the three of us, divide the reviews as you please.
Second Place, the person whom has the second most reviews, receives 30 percent of all of the points and gets three reviews from us, divide as you wish.
Third Place, with the third most reviews, receives 20 percent of all the points in the account, as well as two reviews from us, choose whomever you want.
There are no slots in this contest, and you may join whenever you please, but it would ideal to start when the contest does on January 31st. The contest ends on March 31st, this contest being or lasting around two months long.
To log your reviews in this contest, you make a reply or post on this thread (you can do this before the contest starts if you wish!) and then put a spoiler that links to all the reviews you have done throughout the contest. It's a good idea to log your reviews as you go, to ease the task of tallying at the end of the event. You can also decorate your joining post with snazzy squares (to be explained later on) to change it up a little bit!
