I'm stunned. I have OCD, but not with numbers. I can't stop washing my hands and checking things like the oven is turned off several times, walking back home to make sure I locked the door, etc. My hands are always cracked because I wash too much. And the way you described not being able to stop, it touched me. You wrote the numbers in the way you say them in your head, right? 12 34 56, then 78910. Does the rhythm change in your head depending on what you're doing? The number of times I wash changes according to what I did before. And I count them too. This poem is really well-written. Thank you!

This is literally my OCD too, no joke.

I think you did an amazing job with this.

I love this poem, it is sort of frenzied which, I think, helps capture the anger felt by the speaker. The use of the numbers is really interesting. I love the questioning "AM I DONE NOW? ARE YOU SATISFIED?" because it brings the thing the speaker is fighting to life, makes it deliberately evil. It makes the speaker seem almost desperate to be free from her slavery to her OCD. It is really thought provoking and moving. :D Awesome!

One night I literally just wrote down everything that went through my head during an OCD episode and this is what happened. So it is very real and very personal, glad I was able to convey that!

This is Nikayla here for a review!

I often see these types of poems, which isn't a bad thing necessarily, but I didn't think it was anything quite new. I'm not saying that people shouldn't tackle OCD because it is a worthy topic, but it always seems to come out in a similar way in that it's always focusing on the part where it becomes obsessive. Delving further into this, I'm not really a big fan of the all caps lines that you use in the poem. It's not the lines themselves, rather it's more the content of them.

I believe that having the caps in the poem add the effect of pandemonium, and that's the feeling that I get from the poem, but I don't think it gets the right feeling across. I believe that the first half of the poem is stronger than the second half because it's more experimental in what it does. Something that I wanted but wasn't really here is more of a personal experience with having OCD, because to people who don't have it, it's a little bit harder to connect with them.

This is why most of your audience probably already relates to the poem because they've experienced this feeling before, but I also want to see you create that feeling or tone into the poem with your personal experiences. When I read a poem like this, I always go back to a poem called OCD by Neil Hilborn, and I highly recommend it to you. You can find it on Youtube because it's a slam poem, and I'm quite fond of it because it is what I look to find when it comes to this type of thing.

Something that I liked about this piece is the feeling of calamity it gives off, though I'd like more of a structure or focus behind that. The ending leaves something to be desired. I wanted a resolution to this or for it to stop, but the poem itself never really wraps up. I'd like to see a stronger conclusion for this because it would make for the stronger overall poem.

All in all, it's a valid piece tackling a valid topic. I hope I helped and have a great day! If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Amazing!! I really really enjoyed this! Thank you for sharing.

[Was that intended for me, or is this an accidental comment here? If it's for me, thank you!]

This was an accident...but you are amazing too! (How do I delete this? Sorry...)

xD It's fine. I'm pretty sure if you really wanted to, you could ask one of the GMs to delete it for you or I can send it along, though I forget if these comments are able to be deleted. It's totally okay, though, I've done this a lot.
