Poet

Being a poet is so grand,
Writing short stanzas about lala-lands,
But a poet does not just write about imaginary things,
like 100ft rubies or giant rings,

A poet writes about the times,
The times we cared,
The time we shared,
The times we loved ,
And the times we did not.

Poets may write with aggression,
Depression,
And expression,
But no matter how we write poetry is our obsession.

hello peep! phangirl here!

i really enjoyed reading this! and the fact that this was short...well lets just say it felt like a cherry on top of a cake to me!
i can personally realte to this poem... since i write poems to, even though they are crappy, but duh, poems are poems!
the rhyme scheme of your poem is really good... though i usually prefer free verse better, but here i'm not complaining!

i loved the ending of your poem too...though i would prefer it divided, like
[color=red} but no matter how we write,
poetry is our obession [/color]

oveall i loved this! keep up the good work!
phangirl~

Sorry this wasn't so good, it's rather old. I was about 10 when I wrote this.

King Here

This review will be short, I am deeply sorry, but there is no other way.
I still love your work, even if it short, well, it is a poetry.
I love the idea you had choosen to write about.
Being a poet.
Some of us can relate to it. Well, personally, I cannot, because I have no talent, if we talk about writing poetries or short stories, but I can still understand and feel the thoughts and feelings put into this work.
I love the smoothness and the flow, and that amazing rhyme in the end with the 'obsession'.
Not like they were not other rhymed jazz, but still it was my favourite part. It is really a work, that deserves the read and the review. So, as I said, a review! So I better start with the editing part of this review, right?

I think this is all with my corrections! Keep on writing and I hope I helped.

Capitalization is also the poets stylistic choice. Sorry that this poem sucks it's rather old.

This is an interesting poem, and I wish I couldve read it before. This is a nice blend of love and depression. A good point in here is the use of repition in the word poet. It's hard not to tell how you felt while you were writing this poem. I like when you wrote, like a 100ft rubies or giant rings because it shows how poets think.

still to short

like 100ft rubies or giant rings,

It would be best to write out 100ft as words. After all, your readers can't read your mind, and they won't know if you meant "one hundred foot" or just plain "hundred feet" or something else. Writing numbers and abbreviations out helps make sure the reading isn't ambiguous, and ambiguity is really tricky in poetry.

But no matter how we write poetry is our obsession.

You're missing a comma after "write" here.

Overall, this poem was pretty cute. I haven't really got much else to say about it aside from that.

Firstly, I'd like to say I liked your rhyming scheme, although it seems to have been redeemed in places where it would be considered too obscene to be seen. Also, one thing; your spelling on the tenth line as I think you'll find you've missed a g, mind, the rest of your grammar showed no signs of fault so that's fine.

Overall I'd say don't aim to rhyme but aim to shine, a good metaphor might not sound as good from the vocal chords but it's definitely worth more.
