Petals on the Winter Breeze

I peer into the mirror,

I am weak, I am nothing.

Pale skin, flimsy frame

I'd blow away in the wind.

Petals on the winter breeze.

.

You smile at your reflection,

you are kind, you are loved.

Fair skin, graceful figure

I envy your sugary warmth.

Petals dancing with the summer breeze.

.

I gaze into your eyes,

I am strong, I am God.

With burning insults, billowing lies

I blow you to bits.

Petals on the autumn breeze.

.

I leer into your heart,

snuffing out that summer ember.

You are colorless, you are mine.

Utterly broken, defeated

frozen in eternal winter.

Petals on the winter breeze.

Hey speakerskat! It's Queenie here to review your poem. I really enjoyed this poem. I liked how you compared people to a flower, and that you used lots of description. I think that many people can relate to this feeling of jealousy and the urge to get even. I also liked how you incorporated the seasons into your poem to elaborate more on your flower metaphor. Finally, I liked how you started with thinking you were "petals on the winter breeze" and ended with her being "petals on the winter breeze". I liked this because it showed that she got even and now she is not haunted by someone being better than her. Overall, I thought this was a very well written poem. (Sorry I didn't give much critique, but there wasn't much to critique on.)

Sup, speakerskat! It's your girl, Caitlin; coming at you!
I am here to review your poem.
It was really simple, but a great read, none the less.
I love that you made it (well, this is how I take it) from the point of view of flower.

Like this one part, it's like the flowers point of view in the winter, when it's weak and dying.
And, that's a wrap, peace out fellow writers!
Keep writing!

I like how you put this poem to where it means different things to different readers. Again, the simplicity of this poem is what makes it stronger. What I love most is the way you make 'the flower' so to speak, it's weak, but it's also strong. Basically how it dies in winter, and comes back through out the spring and summer.

I like how this is the strongest part of the poem, to me. The flower is at it's strongest. I just love this poem. It's amazing.

I didn't even think about the fact that it could be a flower, I was just comparing a person to a flower. That's really cool

The poem is awesome!
