Amidst the emerald grass and summer breeze
a buffalo in agony despaired.
I surveyed nature and I was displeased.
-
The howling of hyenas had increased . . .
were eating him alive beyond repair
amidst the emerald grass and summer breeze.
-
I wanted for the nightmare scene to cease.
The savagery was far too much to bear.
I surveyed nature and I was displeased.
-
In agony, it brayed for quick release,
unconscious haven far away from there
amidst the emerald grass and summer breeze.
-
The humans who were watching seemed like beasts.
No pleading of its heart made them feel care.
I surveyed nature and I was displeased.
-
With total unconcern, they filmed the feast
although its gonads bled as teeth were bared
amidst the emerald grass and summer breeze.
I surveyed nature and I was displeased.

I am a squeamish but, tried to watch that video, can't stand more than !:40 min. Your poem speaks humanity isn't dead in each and every line. It's to be appreciated that it moved you to write such an poem.
For me it is of no need to watch that video, I could totally envision the state of the bull through your lines.
The pathetic state of the bull to escape was felt through these lines:
"In agony it brayed for quick release,
unconscious haven far away from there
amidst the emerald grass and summer breeze."
These below lines are so damn true:
"The humans who were watching seemed like beasts.
No pleading of its heart made them feel care.
I surveyed nature and I was displeased.
With total unconcern they filmed the feast
although its gonads bled as teeth were bared
amidst the emerald grass and summer breeze.
I surveyed nature and I was displeased."
Even if a human was in that bull's place, these beasts just enjoy watching. The lines above was so emotional and relatable to this uncaring contemporary world.
The very starting of the poem made me imagine a grassy land under a hot sun.
Since the tone of the poem is miserable, it is wise of you that you chose summer breeze.
Thanks for sharing this poem. It shared a deep message.
I hope these lines will be felt by everyone:
"I yearned for the nightmarish scene to cease.
The savagery was far too much bear.
Thanks for the review. A very horrendous scene! I just can't understand why those animals don't kill their prey before eating it. I also don't understand why those people felt the could do absolutely nothing to help that bull escape its agony. Shame on them!
Absolutely, it is hard to accept that it is the world we live in.
That was quite good. The poem described a scene of the ruthless killing of prey by the predators. The poem has a kind of emotional touch to it and describes the plight of an animal when it is killed by someone more savage and potent than itself. The poem doesn't only show a scene but it additionally has some deeper denotements in itself -
1) One message that it gives is that in the real world the more impotent and less influential sections of the society are eaten up by the more vigorous and more influential sections of the society. The scenario between opulent and poor is an example. It exhibits that the society still has corruption in it and that there is no equality. The superiors make use of the inferiors and establish a majoritarian rule.
2) Another message it gives is that humans are really selfish. They do not care what happens with nature and are just concerned with their enjoyment. They have no interest in saving or doing something for animals or any other human.
Coming to the writing style -
The structure of the poem is just beautiful. The poem prospers in expressing the emotions and mood of the speaker. The word selection, usage is impressive.
My favorite lines were -

No pleading of its heart made them feel care.
I surveyed nature and I was displeased.
-
With total unconcern they filmed the feast

amidst the emerald grass and summer breeze.
I surveyed nature and I was displeased."
