It started with a word.
Simple, very simple.
"Stop."
The word rang in my ears,
it expanded though.
"Stop writing."
Did they dislike my writing?
Or was it something more?
"Stop writing poems."
That hurt a lot to know,
they didn't appreciate it at all.
"Stop writing depressing poems."
It's my writing, not yours.
Why judge me for it?
"Stop writing poems."
They know it hurts me,
but they keep on taunting.
"Stop writing."
That's when they notice the scars,
they start to slow down. One word.
"Stop."
I can't stop thought,
it's how I cope.
"Please. You're scaring me."
Scaring you?
All it is is simple words.
"Are you going to be okay?"
Okay? I'm fine!
Poems are just.. writing. Not a big deal.
"It sure seems like a big deal, you're addicted."
It's okay, don't fret, my dear.
Let me write, it is my only freedom.
"Stop!"
This time, I won't back down.
I have my rights.
"Stop!"
"No."

Hi SecreteJournalist. That was really good. Did you write this because people have been trying to bring you down? I LOVED it! You have real talent and you should use it. No matter how many people try to bring you down, DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM! I hope I get the privilege of reading more of your poems as it was a pleasure reading this. Keep writing.
Hi SJ, I like what you want to say here. It's like a mind of its own that are rioting heart to stop writing[ the writer's block]? Your poem is absolutely simple and easy to understand. Sometimes I think that a simple poem written actually have much impact effective than the elusive poem. So yes, you are successful in that context. I am impressed with the linkage between each stanzas. It goes well as a story plot. There are only a few stanzas that seem a bit odd here.
I am not sure why it became such a 'big deal' to write. And about 'the stranger', I began to wonder why you consider it as such way?
The rest is amazing piece to me. It would be more interesting if you take the risk to play words with figurative language. I mean, do not be afraid to accept criticism from the people. Keep writing!
Kudos, cheers
I liked this. The way you set it up really made it seem so real. Poem writing has always been a struggle for me too, and I know what it is to have others in your face demanding to know if you should be writing at all if you can;t even write a poem. I think I might have said the last word aloud because the emotions came up fresh and raw. Struggle builds character, they say. it also builds great inspiration for writing, as this AWESOME poem now proves.
Keep writing my friend. The world will always need more words.
Amazing...
.
. Hope this helped, keep writing!!!
I really like this poem. It definitely shows a lot of raw emotions, and the concept of it is something I'm sure a lot of people can connect to. It's sad and truthful and real, and I think it has a really strong message. Nice job
I especially like the ending...
'This time, I won't back down.
I have my rights.
"Stop!"
"No."'
It was beautiful and it really tied together the entire piece. The whole thing, actually, is very interconnected. It kind of starts to trail off near the end, but even so I liked it, and you managed to pull it back together, so I wouldn't worry about it.
Well, nice job
Thanks for the review c:
