Sirens, Sirens.

In Poetry

Sirens, sirens,
blaring loud.
Dark clouds spinning,
fast and proud.

It tore apart
our little town.
Crushed our dreams
and made us frown.

Sirens, sirens,
all gone now.
In their place,
a torn up town.

I like the poem a lot! Some poems don't really make sense, and you can't really tell what the author is implying. With yours, you know what it is... But the reader can decide for themselves what the disaster is... Cool twist.
I like how everything rhymes so well. Some poems(can't stand Shakespeare) don't rhyme at all and is hard to read with a rhythm. Yours has a nice rhythm.
It sounds like a natural catastrophe to me or an explosion... Maybe a tornado?

Tornado is correct! Thanks for the review(:

Sorry bout that. I have never seen a tornado or been within several hundred miles of one. All I get is rain... Oregon.

Sheesh. I just went back to my earliest reviews! So short!!

Hi. Rebel here to review. :D

I could relate to this poem 100%. My town has been affected by numerous natural disasters. It's a tough thing to go through when you see how many people are hurting. I hope you and your friends and family are doing alright.

My absolute favorite stanza was

It tore apart
our little town.
Crushed our dreams
and made us frown.

You have a beautiful, simple way of writing and I love it. I hope to see more of your work!

Thanks for the review (:

the rhythm to this is practically musical. Great job. When I read it it sounds almost like a childish nursery rhyme, which creates a very nice contrast with the theme itself. Kudos to you.

Maybe that is better?

Otherwise, excellent.

That was amazing. I love how its to the rhythm of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I also love how its short and to the point, but still has so much emotion in it. Im Sorry about your town though :(. I also like the ABCB rhyme scheme.

Thanks for the review c:

Now that is definitely unique! Some of the words didn't fit, but it was still good. All of the syllables were correctly matched up and the rhyming was great (though I feel like some of it may have been forced).

When I first read this I thought sirens was referring to the the kind that would try to lure sailors into the water and drown them... but I guess this was still alright. It gave a realistic, yet poetic approach. I would have rathered it was about evil mermaids, but that's just me.

I've already read several of your works and I'm very impressed. You have some great talent when it comes to poetry! :)

Thank you so much for the review c:

Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.
