"Smile, darling, smile."
-
It'll be okay.
Toss away your blades
and wipe your tears away.
Sit at your dinner table tonight,
and eat without feeling fright.
-
You're almost perfect darling,
you just have to believe in something.
You're stronger than them,
don't let them drag you down.
Please stay alive for me,
I'd like to see you around.
-
"Smile, darling, smile."
There's no reason to be sad tonight.
Don't cry out of sadness or fright.
Hold your head up high and wonder
of a peaceful, happy slumber.
-
Things will be different now.
Don't look and ask me 'How?'.
Inside yourself, you see,
the answer lays behind all that misery.
Break open your walls and dig,
the answer is so easy to find.
If it weren't for your sadness,
I'd even call you blind.
-
"Smile, darling, smile."
Your sadness will be over soon,
no need to endlessly ponder.
Don't hang from a rope in your room,
don't run away and wander.
The solution is simply you,
no one else can make you fall.
Behind your broken mind,
lay relief from all your sadness.
-
Own yourself, know yourself, and love yourself.
For you have confidence in yourself, you always have.
Don't let others knock you down, hurt you, break you.
You're so much stronger than the rest.
You stood through all the mean words, hatred, abuse.
Rising from your broken soul,
there will be a newer, stronger, prouder one.
You will rise to do great things, if to pass on just one phrase.
-
"Smile, darling, smile."

Hi this is emeraldlinks here to review First off I completely agree with megustapastel " Hi,
"
I actually love this. I can definitely relate to this in a personal level, but also as a bystander, watching some one go through this situation and wanting to save them from their suffering.
I've actually been wanting to write a poem like this, a sort of internal letter about someone, or even to myself. I like how you repeated "Smile, darling, smile" because repetition is a useful tool in poetry. Overall, I love the message you're trying to convey in this poem, because we could all relate to it in our own little way. Thanks for showing us your wonderful writing.
Keep doin' what you're doing and also have a good day
I can elate this to so many personal levels and I love how you did it. Your flow into each stanza was perfect and I enjoyed it a lot. :3 The "smile, darling smile" line throughout helped you capture the meaning in your poem and add power to each stanza you created. All I can say Is Well done and keep writing because you are truly inspiring

This is an execellent poem. I feel like it would be something to read to a friend who's doubting herself or himself, and that this would be the extra push they'd need to get on in life. This poem, I feel, reflects my attitude towards my own sadness, too. I tell muself that it will get better, and that running away or feeling constantly frustrated won't help anything. I always feel that looking deeper within myself, to find the root of the problem will help me be a stronger person.
But self-reflection aside, I think you executed many points about uplifting oneself and general poem stuff very well. Sometimes the parts didn't rhyme though, so they didn't go along with the pattern I thought I saw. The very last stanza and line is very, very powerful; I can't say muc about it (but I do believe there should be a comma between 'one' and 'just').
Though the poem tells one to smile when sad, isn't sometimes good to release your anger instead of masking it or even disregarding it with a smile? That's just something I wanted to put out there, just see your views on that.
Twas still awesome though.
This is so good I love that it relates to a frequent problem in kids and teens now. I like the description very much. I hope you write more that are just as good or better!

This actually made me feel happy and it is so well written!
I especially like the line about digging and that the answer is there somewhere and EVERYTHING. Great job.
Only one small suggestion...:
"Rising from your broken soul,
will be a newer, stronger, prouder one."
The second line threw me slightly, perhaps add a "there" in front of the "will" just to make it extra clear for stupid people like me. XD
Overall, loved this though, YOU ARE AMAZING!
