Broken Dreams
I am no writer
I can’t even pick up a pencil
Without it snapping in two by itself
I can’t even type
Without making my board quake, then shatter
And all the paper in the world flees from me
Flies away
While my mind is twitching with eccentricity
*twitch twitch*
I am the world’s most unpleasant writer
And with the time it takes for me to write a page,
A war will begin and end and a new country shall arise
In the time it takes for me to edit my 10 page work of art,
I will have children and they will be off to college
In the time it takes for me to get my work sent in
Find a big enough envelope, stamp it, and send it
They will be administering last rights
The day they reply is the day I will die
So I will never know of my achievement
When the world gets their grubby little hands
On the grand work I never knew
Soon the population shall drop
Immensely
All the embalmers, stuffing their cadavers, will say
“Another work of Elizabeth has taken a life”
And the embalmer’s friend will reply
By bowing his head in shame
At the funeral on a bleak Monday noon
My children will go up and speak of me
In a very unpleasant way
“My mom was insane, my mom was mad,
However we are not liable for any payments due to eye damage
Due to the story that you or a loved one has read”
*twitches*
Hopefully one day I will out of my attic but until then I’ll…
I think that I’ll… I’ll…
(Please see asterisk)
*Falls over sobbing in a puddle of broken dreams and scented paper*

This was great. I really liked it.
cool, lol, i can totally relate to it. and i too love the twitching thing... so random.
hehehehehehe I liked this poem. It was hilarious to me. I just re-read it for the first time in a long while and I was laughing so hard I nearly set my house on fire! Bad thing but... AHAHAHA!!!
THIS WAS GREAT AND YOU ARE QUITE A WONDERFUL WRITER.
I think that the first few lines of this poem are a self-fulfilling prophecy.
The only reason you love that line is because it reminds you of yourself.
You selfish brat!
I seem to recall this....you told me on the phone, I doth recalleth.
And I love:
While my mind is twitching with eccentricity
*twitch twitch*
both.
*Brain Fizzes*
I know I was there when you wrote this, but I still find this very funny... I still don't get how the paper got away in the first place... was the window open or something? Or did your brother try to eat it?
*smacks* Stop having low self-esteem about your writing!
That was really funny and good, in a not laugh out loud but kind of witty sort of way.
I don't know what it is about those three lines, but I think the rhyming really bugged me.
The word seemed really dragged out and seemed a little too straining on the reader when it skipped from one syllable to three syllables to rhyme.
Other than that, it was really good.
Cool poem Eliz, untrue though.
My english teacher got a huge laugh out of it and I am glad you did too.... anyway... i could add a lot to it... i could take out a lot... hmm... I might just do that, seeing as to the fact I can. Bwahaha!
LOL HAHA this was HILARIOUS. I hope you don't even have a little thought that you are a bad writer though... but yeah this was really funny.
