A waterfall of honey yellow and scarlet leaves fall from the trees.
The thud of nuts tumbling to the ground echoes through the woods.
The smell of acorns and sweet berries is in the dry air.
A cold draft brushes my skin, a sign that winter is nearing.
I listen to the whooping calls of cranes flying south,
They can see autumn sweeping like a wild fire over the forest below.
A carpet of copper and crimson crunches under my feet.
I hear the frosty breezes murmuring to me,
They are whispering of the cold times to come.
They are The Autumn Winds.

I was born in Autumn..

Hello again! I'm back for another short review!
Love it! Thank you so much for bringing those memories to mind.

Wow. And again wow. One more wow won't hurt: wow. This perfectly captures the feeling of fall. This brought me back memories about the forest that I walk through almost every day. I find myself writing there sometimes, on a rock surrounded by oaks and ferns. It's quite beautiful during the fall really. The dappled light, the orangey colours of the leaves that surround the rock. It's really beautiful.
Heh, I think that I may have gotten a bit carried away again.
I really can't find anything wrong with this other than how tormenting beautiful it is.

I really enjoy the way you use descriptions to better your sentences. If you reduce your punctuation and allow the sentences to flow into each other it may create a much more mature voice in your writing. (Though at times punctuation can develop and add character to a piece) Keep expressing your voice through writing; You're super talented!
Hey Felistia,
) However, even though this is such a shorter piece, I think I may like it a little more then the other ones. I do have a few short suggestions...
Ok, I feel like you are going to get sick of seeing me here but guess what... I'm here and I am not leaving. I'm such a rebeal (sorry but you asked for reviews and it's my duty as a literature superhero (or what I wish I was) to review your work for you).
Wow, this piece is so much shorter then the other few I have read from you. (And wow, I think like I am starting to reveiw how I did when I was younger. Great, you see what you're doing to me.
1.) I love how you use color's to describe things in your poems but it's starting to become a little overly used. Especially since the colors you choose to use are normally the same (i.e. crimson, gold). If you want to continue using colors, which I say go right ahead, try to widen your color vocabulary.
2.)
OK, so this line just reads rather odd to me. I think it is because smell is plural when I believe that it shouldn't be. But then again I never know how to spell myself so... But still, maybe you should read this out loud and then check with someone else.
That's it (I think). You know the drill if you have questions. Goodluck and continue writing. ---Myjaspercat
Thank you for all the reviews. I will get round to fixing the problems as soon as I can.
Your welcome. I really hope I helped. I felt like I was becomeing to mean.
I like constructive reviews even if they are a little harsh.
Hi!
On with the review!
Another job well done! I love how you write about seasons and nature - and this one isn't "scary", but "chilling" - and I like it. (if that makes sense)
WARNING: You shouldn't take grammar advice from me.I'm not sure if this is grammatically correct - I keep wanting to say "are", but I know it would contradict with smell...maybe if you changed smell to plural form, and then is to are, it would sound better.Example: "The smells of acorns and sweet berries are in the air."
For emphasis, if you wanted, you could italicize the Autumn Winds (and then capitalize 'the'). Just a suggestion though.
Other than that, I really like this! You have a thing with description and nature, and I like it! Great job and keep writing!
~Snazzy
Stay awesome!
It should be The smells of acorns and sweet berries are in the dry air.
Hi felistia, I'm fairly new to the Young Writers Society and I was wondering if I could give you a review of your poem.
Happy Halloween!
Fall happens to be my favorite season! Even though your poem wasn't very lengthy, I still felt that you were able to paint a detailed picture of this autumn scene. I liked that you choose to use all five senses in your poem because it really added to the poem.
Just a thought, maybe try adding something about an apple orchard or apple cider. I feel that you could really be able to expand on this theme with your descriptive language.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the idea and review. I am going to expand when I have time.
Here for a short review:

I love the feeling of the poem.
I liked how you used the language in a simple manner and how it flows all together.
The descriptive language is great making it beautiful and sweet.
I'm not really a fan of short poems but I really like this. keep up the good work!
Have a good week!
thanks
I love the imagery words in the poem, such as [quote] "A waterfall of gold and scarlet leaves" [quote/]
Fall is my favorite season and the way you describe the thud of nuts falling to the ground, and the feel of wind makes me feel like I'm outside right now walking in the forest. I get a great mental image and I absolutely love the words you use. It's so hard writing a review for this poem because I have nothing to critique you on! I would maybe add the smell of bonfires, the taste of cider, the sound of the howling wind, etc.
Good idea I will expand on it when I get the chance. Thank you for the review.
Ahh. Beautiful. The key for more descriptive poetry, for me, is that it appeals to multiple senses, and you pull that off wonderfully. Autumn is my favorite season so I may be slightly biased, but I think you do a great job conveying its beauty and mystery.
While I like the picture at the start, I feel like the poem might be better without it. One of the beauties of poetry is letting people draw their own picture from your words. And your descriptions are so strong, the poem easily carries its own weight without needing the picture.
Anyways, great poem I like it a lot.
Thanks for the review. I have removed the picture.
I also feel like my favorite season is Autumn, even though I live in a country where we don't have four seasons. I know. I really like these kinds of poems, you see. Great use of the five senses in the poem. Kind of short, to be honest. But it's great! 10/10!
thanks for the comment.
Not too deep, not too shallow. I like it. My favorite season happens to be autumn, so I may be a little prejudiced there. Even though it wasn't to long, I liked the descriptive language you used, like the waterfall of gold and scarlet leaves, the smell of acorns, a carpet of copper and crimson, it was all really nice. 10/10 for me, and I hope to see you with more to come!
