You can't save the world...

In Poems from Before I Was A Poet

Yeah. SO, I have no idea what this is. Actually, I DO know what it is. But it's personal reasons... so yeah. I know it's short, but I kind of like it that way. I especially love the ending!

Once something is said,
you can’t take it back.
Once something is heard,
you’ll never hear again.

Then what about the lies that are written,
scribbled across a napkin in the dead of night?
Your drunken hand unsteady,
the candlelight flickering on the old table.

You’re so many things I can’t put into words,
so many things that are untrue.

“You can’t save the world,” they tell me.
This is true.
But my darling, I wish I could save you.
