Childhood was life's best stage,
Like the sand it flew away;
Growing up playing catch-catch,
Didn't realise when the ball got lost forever.
--
Fragile sweet soapy water bubbles,
Replaced the harmful smoke of cigars;
I didn't realise when the gas-balloons,
Flew up into eternal sky & got lost forever.
--
In this complex game of hide and seek,
The childhood is now hidden forever;
Stealing away my "Monopoly" board;
Like fools I was searching my childhood.
--
The childhood was a castle constructed,
With the delicate cards making triangles,
With the slow breeze of youth,
Didn't realise when it got shattered forever.

Hi, I am princess, a new member of this society. I am here to review your work and offer you suggestions. Apologies if I offend.
First of all, this is a very beautiful poem written by a creative poet. The words are beautifully put together and I can relate to the poem. This happens in everyone's life- missing the childhood memories, friends and much more. It is a nostalgic poem which expresses yearning to relive the past, the childhood. Though it is a blank verse, it is quite rythemic. When I read your poem, I was lost in childhood memories, just like you. Plunging in the past was easy bt coming out of the cobweb of memories was difficult.
'Growing up playing catch-catch,
Didn't realise when the ball got lost forever.
I didn't realise when the gas-balloons,
Flew up into eternal sky & got lost forever.'
These lines are really nice to read. I mean, how the ball and the water balloons got lost forever in the sky. I know you can neither get the ball back nor the memories, so you must be feeling a little nostalgic.
'In this complex game of hide and seek,
The childhood is now hidden forever;'
So beautifully written, amazing! the lines in which you have compared the present life with a complex game of hide and seek is quite imaginative and creative.
'Fragile sweet soapy water bubbles,
Replaced the harmful smoke of cigars;' I can understand how in or growing yearsour habits change completely. We find it funny after some years that we used to spend the whole day playing these games. But it was fun, having no worries and apprehensions and just enjoying our life to the fullest. It is a pleasure hard to explain. Only a grown up can understand this.
Growing up, I feel, is a bit wierd. When we are young, we yearn to be old. And when we are old , we yearn to be a child again. Only then we realise the importance of childhood and of the people who helped us in growing up.
Wish you luck for the future. Hope to see more of your poems.
Thank you so much for the review!! Sorry for the late reply ...it was a sweet review! Thanks a lot again!! <3 <3
Hi there!
So there are just a few things that I noticed.
The first thing was this line: "Fragile sweet soap water bubbles." This line feels rushed and awkward. Maybe just add a few commas and change "soap" to "soapy." Hence: "Fragile, sweet, soapy water bubbles."
It just doesn't feel as awkward and rushed.
You need to switch the "i" and the "a" around in "Traingles."
Lastly, this line "Didn't realize when did the gas-balloons," This sentence is also awkward and doesn't really fit the rhythm of the rest of the poem. I would change it to say something like this: "We/I didn't realize when the gas-balloons."
I hope this helped and this is a good poem!
Fixed! Thanks a lot for the review!! <3
