How I want you to be ...?

by Eros

I want you to be waiting for me---

Oh, just for me, just for me;

In that obscure garden at night,

Under the dark and star studded sky,

I want you to hug me tight,

As tears escape from my eyes---

My eyes, that drives you

Insane as you say.

--

I want you

To help me become myself,

Rather, help me be the best

And true version of myself.

I want you make me feel

so free around you,

So free--- like that sparrow in the sky;

And if I get feeble as I fly,

I want you to hold me with love,

Never letting me fall down.

--

In front of those who stand against,

I want you to take my side

Even if I am wrong;

But then I want you to pull me closer,

And correct me when we're alone,

In your voice so sweet and convincing,

And that same deep voice,

That soothes my soul, as I always say.

--

I want you to get

In a brawl with me,

Because fights in love,

Are like spices in pizza;

Burns the toungue, but still is tasty.

I want you to be mad at me when I'm wrong,

But I also want you

To melt on my smile,

And infinite "please"s and "sorries",

Forgiving me, for all my mistakes.

This is Weirdo, here with a review for review day (sorry, it took so long, I remember you tagged me back in September). The usual stuff-

Please know that nothing in this review is meant to offend you or your work. This is just my opinion, you and other readers and reviewers could disagree. You also might want to completely ignore this, after all, it's just the opinion of a random person in the middle of somewhere. Sorry if I miss read something or misunderstood something and pointed it in the review. I didn't have the time to go through the previous reviews, so sorry if I repeat something already said.
That being said, let's get into this review.

Firstly, I noticed you have ended almost every sentence with a punctuation mark and capitalized every letter at the beginning of the sentence.
When it comes to poetry, it is definitely not necessary to follow exact grammar and style. Just experiment and it should be fine.

I want you to be waiting for me---
Oh, just for me, just for me;
In that obscure garden at night,
Under the dark and star studded sky,
I want you to hug me tight,
As tears escape from my eyes---
My eyes, that drives you
Insane as you say.

(I like the bold line best)
The last 2 lines would sound better like this- (I think)

My eyes
that drive you insane
as you say

I want you
To help me become myself,
Rather, help me be the best
And true version of myself.
I want you make me feel
so free around you,
So free--- like that sparrow in the sky;
And if I get feeble as I fly,
I want you to hold me with love,
Never letting me fall down.

Here, I like the comparison with the sparrow, but the line in bold could use improvement. I felt it disturbed the flow, maybe because it was not related to the comparison (the sparrow).
I'm not sure how to correct this though. Maybe by using something related to a sparrow getting feeble as it flies, it could be better. (JUST my opinion)

In front of those who stand against,
I want you to take my side
Even if I am wrong;
But then I want you to pull me closer,
And correct me when we're alone,
In your voice so sweet and convincing,
And that same deep voice,
That soothes my soul, as I always say.

I think the bold part could be written after a line break, just a thought

I want you to get
In a brawl with me,
Because fights in love,
Are like spices in pizza;
Burns the toungue, but still is tasty. (quickly pointing out this typo- it's tongue
I want you to be mad at me when I'm wrong,
But I also want you
To melt on my smile,
And infinite "please"s and "sorries",
Forgiving me, for all my mistakes.

I felt this paragraph was different from the others, as most of them have a specific situation you have described in detail. Here, you are not talking about something in particular. I also felt this paragraph didn't have the flow the rest of the poem had, I guess it could use improvement.

Hope this helps and sorry if something sounded offending

Weirdo out

Nothing sounded offending ... Thanks k you so much for the review!! Really helps me to know where the things can be improved ...:D

Wow this is just amazing! It really does speak so much of real desires one has in a relationship that most don't vocalize such as

"In front of those who stand against,

I want you to take my side

Even if I am wrong;

But then I want you to pull me closer,

And correct me when we're alone,"

I love how you describe needing that one person in your corner to have your back whether wrong or right but if infact wrong not belittling you for it in front of everyone, I think every woman especially wants that and I love that you incorporated that into this poem! I don't think I seen any grammar issues or anything to critique you on, this piece was well put together. Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it ..

Personally, i loved reading this poem. wonderfully written. I like your descriptive skills you seem to be crystal clear. however, poetry needs that hint of flare with the appropriate connect with words. through you're good at it I feel you can get better. Your usage of words constantly kept me curious. Wishing you luck. keep writing. cheers!

Thank you so much, I am glad you liked it!

Of course @Eros!

This is way better! It sounds so much more harmonious and flows better!

The tone is more consistent, and still has that warm, fuzzy feeling (which I forgot to mention in my other review)!

Again. the pizza thing interrupts the tone a bit, but if you feel it works, you don't have to change it.

Overall, way better! Please keep writing!

Thank you soooooo much!! I am improving because of your review... It was a very helpful review!

Thank you! I very much appreciate your cooperation! Let me know if you need anything else reviewed!

Yeah sure! I'll keep tagging you whenever I write something new .. till then you can read any of my old works ... Like the short story, "The Dog and the Soldiers" The Dog and The Soldiers. or another shot story, "Before the fire engulfs me" Before the fire engulfs me...

Hello! This is my first poetry review, so bear with me!

This is a beautiful poem! Minus a couple flaws, it was beautifully worded and structured!

There were some instances where I think you could do better:

(1) "As tears ooze out of my eyes---"

I feel like the words "ooze out" interrupts the tone of the poem. Maybe you could use a similar word with a different connotation, such as "flow from" or "escape [from]".

(2) "I want you to fight with me, / Because fights in a relationship, / Are like spices in the pizza, / Burns the toungue, but still is tasty."

This analogy is wonderfully done, but, again, interrupts the tone of the poem. I don't hear anything else about pizza or anything of the sort throughout the poem. Maybe lose the analogy and just describe what it's like to be in a fight?

Overall, amazing! For the most part, it's elegant and wonderfully put.

Keep writing, please!

Yeah ...I am trying to edit it... In fact, I have edited a few wordings... Struggling to make it sound more poeric... Thanks for the review!! I am glad you liked it...

I have edited a few things ...will you please have a look and give more suggestions where I could improve more...?
