Have you ever been cleaning
and as you are throwing away excess things,
you find a long lost toy?
Maybe some hand-made book you constructed in third grade.
Or it could be an old flyer about your school's talent show.
Whatever it was, did it ever cause your memory dam to break,
cause your old memory waters to come spilling out?
You playing on the ground, throwing a plastic toy around?
The pride on your face when you finally finished writing your story?
The applause of the audience as the grand finale of your talent show started?
I know that feeling.
Some of those reminisces could be sad, too.
Maybe you dig around your kitchen table and find the F on your paper.
And whatever items
are there
waiting to be found,
they have something in common.
They're all
hidden memories.

Good topic! Very relatable. I actually find old things all the time! Overall the poem is really good. It doesn't really have a flow to it but it's still good. I'm not that good with punctuation but I think it's correct. I couldn't write near this good when I was your age. Keep up the good word!

Haha, at the end of your review, I think you meant "work".
Thank you, though!
Oh, yeah haha.
This is a great poem. I can relate to it because when I clean my room, I will like find these things I forgot about, and start playing with them! No joke! I will also find like cards from friends and family, and just like start reading them! So I can relate the this stanza:

It is exactly what I would do! I think this was a great piece, a written well! I agree with ShirinKaul with how the phrase and name "hidden memories" was the perfect title! Great job! Keep writing!
Thank you! I based this off of me, actually. I find these old diaries of mine lying around and then I figure I have some time, so I lay down and read them.
So do I!
Awesome!
I do it a lot, like when I'm bored...which is a lot of times!
lol
Nice. It has a good message. The ending line : "They're all hidden memories." I think it was a nice and clever choice to write hidden memories in a seperate line. it created a strong effect.
But the punctuations are a little awkward.
I like the line," I know the feeling."
Overall, the idea is really nice.
Keep writing!
Thank you so much for your praise!
What a wonderful idea. What you have here is a good skeleton to start another poem from, I think. If you would give this poem another look, I would suggest picking one item to write about more specifically, and then you could tell people who read this poem how this item affected you, so people could empathize with your experience and understand the idea of your poem with you having to ask these people outright whether they have felt this certain way or not.
It's nice! Keep writing!
Thank you!
