"When I glanced at the chair, it started to shake. I’d like to think it was scared of me, but I rarely invoked that response in living things, let alone inanimate objects. "    -Kelly Armstrong.

"I've sat on this red leather chair, for three years now

It's as if my body has been sewn into the fabric

I have been planted here, to stay.

The place were I will rot for the rest of my life,

where I will decay,  until I am nothing but dust.

If I was to stand now,

There would be a dent, right were my butt has been.

My legs would turn into jelly as I try to walk.

But I wont, I am one with this red leather chair,

it's eyes and ears.

The brain that holds the knowledge.

No one sees me, they just pass by,

I am nothing but a piece of red leather. "

This was an interesting poem.
I liked how it seemed that the narrator was confined to the chair. The feeling of being trapped and bound to it's presence was very well conveyed.
The way you merged the two into one, and gave the chair a more humanized look, even though your words didn't state that, was really interesting.
I enjoyed this one a lot. :)

To start let me say I really like this poem. It was very well written and you have very nice word usage. Unlike redbox275 I totally understood what you were trying to say. I like that fact very much, poems are so much better when you can understand them in my opinion. I can't help but wonder, why the narrator sits in the red leather chair so much. Was it a past family member's chair or just a favorite spot? Knowing that would add a little more oomf to the work however it is really good without it.

the chair is a favorite spot (kind of referencing my self here in this poem. We have a leather chair in our living room and it is my favorite place, even my mom knows it is claimed as mine.
)

Yeah that makes sense. I like it!

This is really good writing. I like the poem's originality and so is the subject natter. I am confused though are you talking in the perspective of the leather on the chair or something on the chair.
You say, "I sat on the red leather chair..."
Then you say, "I am nothing but a piece of red leather,"

I am talking as if someone has sat in the chair for so long they believe they have become a piece of it. And thank you.

Quotegenworthy is a adjective which should be used on YWS way more.
