Open your book, hands shaking, and begin to read. There is a flurry of pages. Forget what time it is, like a bird forgets how to fly while its injured. Hurry.
You never know when the canaries wing will heal. You don't know when you will reach the end but you know it's coming soon. Wait.
Don't you have class in the morning? You must go to sleep. Your fingers throb when the book leaves your hands, because its too light now.
You miss the weight.

Knight Malachi here to review for Review Day!!!!
Aren't you excited? Anyway . . .
This is the second or third of your short writings that I have read, and so far I have liked them all. this one especially. I can completely relate to all of this. wanting the book to end, anticipating, realizing you are up much too late and have stuff you have to go do, but wanting to read.
You miss the weight.
Fantastic ending! Can't think of a better way too end it myself. Good job.
Keep it up!
Onto my next review

l could so relate to this! It is indeed "hunger" we feel while lost in our books. The first...er... stanza or verse or whatnot, could use some editing though. I like how you go: "Open your book, hands shaking, and begin to read. There is a flurry of pages. Forget what time it is..."
But I think you could use a better simile here, don't you agree? I mean, a bird doesn't really FORGET to fly when it is injured. It just CAN'T. So how about something like: " like a bird forgets how to land during first-flight"? This could sort of portray your excitement being similar to that of spearing through the air for the first time, lost in the ecstasy of it all.
Also, just a little nitpick: "You never know when the canaries wing will heal." It should be canary's instead of canaries. Canaries is the plural, the plural possessive being "canaries'" But since you're obviously using it for singular purpose, it should be "canary's."
I like the ending. It's just...right. Excuse my three-bearishness, but it just IS.
I hope to read more of your work! Keep writing!
