Fuzzy little thoughts.
Confusion.
Throw-up yellow,
And sticky green.
Confusion.

Snap!

Cherry lipstick red,
Langerie black.
Confidence.
Or Love of sorts?
Sweet nothings,
And tight hugs.
Confidence
Or Love of sorts?

Snap!

Laughter,
And silent nights.
Happiness.
Sunshine yellow,
And raindrop blue.
Happiness.

Your comment was posted, but it wasn’t long enough to count as a review. Reviews need about four complete sentences (at least 250 characters). Try writing another review that explains your thoughts in more detail — the author will appreciate it, and you’ll earn points for it.
1) I appreciate the mentioning of me. It's very sweet
2) Sorry I've not been on in a while. School finals, and then worked doubles. I'll be a little bit more active again though. Now, on with the review.
I'm not extremely familiar with "A Few of My Favorite Things," but that is what this poem reminded me of. I later realized that wasn't it. So, what's this about? Wasn't sure. Looked in the comments before mine to find them. One guy, as you explite, hammers it on the head. So I've no need to say my interpretation, and can now lead onto review how well you handled writing this. (ugh, this meets the requirements of a review, and I've not said a word about the work)
I'm not a drinker, in a christian college, not even credited, so I can't really relate on a personal level. I will say the way it's written with the confusion of life, especially the title, I like it. Fragments of information but none of it is actually pieced together. You turn your head as you would in life to find more information, but it's seemingly unrelated. Love it.
Why is lipstick spelled 'lip-stick' Is that referring to the guy's um... you know...?
Haha! "Sweet nothings." A stab at how I feel about relationships. Sad? Maybe, but it's the truth.
I like the snap indicating the speed of life. Over in a snap... or gingersnap if you're feeling festive.
Is Happiness, and the other bold characters one of the 'real fake things'? If that's the case, is the author simply toying with life making the audience think she's confused? Is life not actually going by in a snap, but moving slowly? Afterall to come up with that writing would take time... slow-moving time at that. *unless you happen to just write your ideas down and then it happens to work but your boss doesn't think so. Well LOOK WHO'S REVIEWING NOW THERESA... (hoping you get the Daria reference)
If that's what's happening, it's quite inspirational to me stylistically. If that is not what's happening, you portrayed your ideals quite well. one question: raindrop blue? is this a picture of the sky or is it rain? Is the sun peering in the rain? So many questions on so little review.... speaking of, YAY MORE POINTS!!!
Welp fuck it I'm gonna do a review. First off I really love the poem it's a great change of pace from the stuff you have been writing. Not saying I didn't like your other stuff just saying that you mixing it up was a nice surprise. Personally I think this is the best poem you've written by far. Anyway if to the actual review stuffs so let's get the stupid stuff outta the way first.
Grammar: didn't really notice anything other than all the lines without question marks should
have commas it would just make it more visually appealing. Also maybe put asterisks around the snaps to show that it's onomatopoeia.
Spelling: I don't fuckin know I suck at spelling
Flow: the flow of the poem is fantastic probably one of the best flowing poems I've ever read it just rolls off the toung.
Meaning:Now not over analyze this like I'm a hipster at a modern art exhibit. But I get the sense that that this poem is trying to put on a mask kinda like the mask we put on in our daily lives. What I think the poem what's us to think is that it's about a college are person being young and stupid. With the first stanza being the feeling of being drunk the second have sex with someone you maybe shouldn't and finally the third witch is the person growing and getting past thoughs shity choices. But no that's not what this poem is about it's something more it's something unique (see what I did there *smirks like an idiot*) what I think each stanza is about is more personal and wounded in a way. So the first stanza is anxiety and that feeling of unsureness like something bad is gonna happen but you don't know what. The second stanza is distance and wanting to be with a person you love and do all those things that couples do like kiss and hug and even sex but you can't because of the distance between you and that person. And last but sertantly not least the third stanza. It is understanding that you don't have control over the things causing you heart ache like anxiety and distance and realizing you need to enjoy the little things that make you happy like laughing together with that person or being able to share comfortable silence with them.
All in all I loved it keep up the great work hon!
omg you actually reviewed. nice! You nailed the meaning.
AH HA I KNEW IT!
BOOYAAAAA
OI
O boy! Fluma, you did amazing! I'm not sure the last time you actually included romance into a poem of yours, but I absolutely love it!!!!!! And by the way, I love every time you finish a stanza, you do that thing, 'SNAP!' that thing! I like it! It's like a transitioner (If that's even a word!XD) and you keep the poem flowing, it's really good! I love how you describe sounds and different colors with a color that matches it! It's unique! I love this poem, keep making these poems! They're really cool! Keep up the fantastical work!!!!!
Thanks! I have a few romantic poems.
GOODY GOODY GUMDROPS!!!!!!!!!!
Yup.
OMG YOU POSTED IT!!!!!
yes
Haven't done a review in some time. Might as well get back into practice.
So... Let's see then. Color Coded Feelings and Real Fake Things, eh? Interesting choice of words for the title to be sure. I won't pretend to understand what it means, it's quite odd, but interesting nonetheless.
The whole thing is quite trippy. I'm not sure I understand it very much. The impression it gave me was the effect of hallucinogenic/psychotropic drugs on a person and the feelings they create? Correct me if I'm wrong. That's just the vibe it gave me.
Grammar and syntax seem okay to me. I don't see any glaring issues there. Clear in that department. Maybe somewhat unnecessary formatting with the hyphens but I suppose it doesn't matter all that much.
You made specific repeating parts in each section bold and italicized, but you did not make the midsection's repeating phrase bold. Not sure if it's an oversight or if it has some meaning behind it...?
So yeah. It's trippy for sure, and I don't completely understand the message it's conveying. I don't see a distinct meter either, but the lines are all of similar lengths, so that's good. Solid effort, I'd say! And that about wraps up the review.
Good luck!
