I love Steampunk music,
I love Celtic music,
I love Greek mythology,
I love Egyptian mythology,
I love reading,
I love writing.
I love helping others,
I love being homeschooled.
Just because I love all of this,
Doesn't make me a freak.
I love being outside,
I love being a firefighter,
I love my goats,
I love being strong
And physically fit.
Why would this make me a freak?
I like plants,
I like being challenged.
I like challenging myself,
Telling myself I can do better.
How are these the marks of a freak?
I don't wear makeup,
I don't want to.
I am plain,
I'm not sexy,
I don't care.
I believe that it is what is
On the inside that counts.
All I ask is that you maybe open your mind,
Get to know me before you judge,
And if you still consider me a freak
Because of all of this,
Well,
That is your problem.
I don't care.
A/N: I have been through this, I tend to be looked on as strange because of this, mostly because I am homeschooled. I have finally gotten over that, but I still needed to express my feelings.

I can relate. You wouldn't catch me dead in makeup. I'm not that pretty. Great poem! It's really good. No changes needed. It's from the heart. And it doesn't feel forced. The feeling behind a poem are what s most important. Don't change a thing about the poem or yourself!
Merry Christmas,
Or happy holidays if you don't celebrate Chrismas.
And keep writing!
This is bringing back memories. Recent memories, in fact. From a certain point of view, anomalies such as these, stand out to many people. They see them as different, and they don't like something to stand out, they want everything to flow naturally, everything to be the same. I suppose for these sorts of people, it provides a sense of security. In doing so, they give off a cold vibe to anything different, this could be eiether intentional, or not at all. Whichever it is, that is one kind of person. It may seem everyone is the same, and judges a book by its cover. But that's because the one's who read a book, don't often show themselves. So if one wishes to find them, they are worth finding. Personally, I don't like everything the same. I do like a varitey, but if everything were different, nothing could be that special. But I prefer a "freak," to any steriotype. Because i'm a freak too, if my intrests are truely a crime. Wonderful poem, 10/10, aboslutely loved it. Please write more.
FireSpyGirl,
Hope to see more from you soon!
This is a great poem! I totally agree with all of it! I love reading, writing, and helping others. I am plain too and I love plants. I've got tons of plants in my apartment! I don't wear makeup either, because I don't want to.
And guess what? I'm home schooled too!
My mom teaches me, which makes things extra extra extra tough. In home schooling you get one on one attention, you have no one to distract you and obviously, it can get you bored at times! Lolz.
I love your poem, it's beautiful! If you were sitting by me right now, I'd give you a huge bear hug!
Keep on writing!

I'm jumping up and down right now. It is soooooo cooooooollllll to find someone else who is homeschooled!!!!! I'm glad you liked this poem to. XD
*grin* I know a few other people who are home schooled. Four people, actually.
I know four as well! I just don't get to see them very often.
Oh really?! Well, I see my home schooled mates, like almost four times a month... Is that less than yours? Or more?
I see mine once a year, sometimes
Oh...
