A Letter To My Angel

This letter may break your fragile heart,

But I believe it's time for us to part.

I've hurt you so much already, my love,

Love worthy of you comes from above.

A love that will never pass you by,

Or leave the next day and make you cry.

Forgive me now, my dear, and move on

Chase the ever fading purple dawn,

And with the wings on your back,

Keep going, my angel—never look back.

The poem is incredibly well written. The flow is incredible and you eloquently designed a somber mood for the poem. I liked your word choice and elaborations that you use. My only critique would be to change one of the last two lines, just to avoid using the same word and continue with your rhyme scheme. Other than that, it was incredible. Keep up the fantastic work!

Hey Keepwriting! His was a really amazing poem. The only thing I can see that is wrong is that all your lines rhyme except for the last two. Your flow from line to line was good and I got what you were saying. I think that this was a somewhat sad poem because it is about goodbye but I get where you are coming from. Overall that was an beautifully written poem. It was one of your best I would say! Good job and keep writing!

Hey!

I really liked this poem. I related to it a lot! I think the rhyme was better than some of your other poems, whose rhymes seemed rather forced. The only problem I see is the last two lines didn't rhyme. You can't use the same word in a rhyme scheme.

Other than that I liked this poem,

Thanks, that means a lot. <3 Don't forget to click the like button.

I leave the like button actually for works that I loved! and the works that leave me awestruck. But that doesn't mean I don't like this poem.

Ah, I should do the same.

This is a very passionate and emotional poem. I really like it, it is very easy to relate to. You can feel the reluctance in letting the person go since they were your angel. But it seemed to insinuate that you were hurting the person and that you were not worthy of their love, so you had to let them leave.

"I've hurt you so much already, my love,

Love worthy of you comes from above."

Very good and well written. Great job.

Thank you so much. <3 Don't forget to click the "like" button or star up top. :D

Heyyyooooo Keepwriting! As being someone who's witnessed this first handed before I can truly feel the emotion and understanding within this poem. As it is very obvious that whoever wrote this had really thought this over and wanted to make a point. I personally wouldn't change a single thing as they poem is really great and if you change a word I feel the entire poem would be different. Keep on writing * chuckles at his own pun* and great things will come.

Thanks for sharing this poem with all of us

This is really heart warming and sweet, emotional and still sad. It is sad but still makes the reader happy. Smile and cry, let's say?
I do not think this will be a very long review, because I have only one or two complains about small things in this work. I can understand it is a letter to an ex, someone who you want to be happy, even if you know you will not be together like before, which is really sweet. I like that you compare the person with an angel. So maybe my only complain is actually the capitalozation and that one small missed fullstop.

Forgive me now, my dear, and move on

Only herr it needs fullstop, every where else, you had done everything right. For the capitalization, it is only on several places and I think it is noticable, but I do not know if I can call you a very big mistake.

Good job!

Thanks so much for the feed back and don't forget to click the "like" button! Also, may I ask where my capitalization is incorrect? And what you mean by fullstop?

Elijah replied · Apr 25, 2016

If you have a commax the next needs to start with a small letter, so most of the work needs to be checked for this. Almost every line is with wrong capitalization.
For the fullstop, I had told you where. You just need to put it at the end.

Commas, I meant, sorry. XD
