Baby boy,
Don’t cry. Mama's here.
Let me hold you some more.
Wipe away that tiny tear,
And go back to sleep.
Baby boy,
Don't cry. Daddy's near.
Take heart and smile.
Oh, my sweet, sweet dear...
Why are you so upset?
Baby boy,
Don’t cry. Don't fear.
I'll always keep you safe.
Let me whisper into your ear,
"I'll always love you."

Hey!
I personally love such poems that is about kids and mothers and family and friendship over all those "relationship breakups" poems.
You have actually tried a good idea. I think this is going to be "our" generation lullaby.
Now, i am sorry if you didn't intend it to be a lullaby but i think it's a perfect lullaby as the words used are soft and sober. There is less of intensity which keeps the poem calm.
Now, i can't say much but give you this little suggestion that you can actually improve the rhyming scheme. Because in poems that are about babies or intended to be recited to babies must sound good. Also, it makes them wonderful if they can be sung. So with just a bit of reconsideration this poem can become-"flawless"!
