Just Like Heaven

E - Everyone

In Poetry

I breathe in the fresh air,
And relax as I drift away.
Running hands through my hair,
Here I'll always stay.
Safe from harm or pain,
Forever spiritually happy,
Where my sadness is contained,
And feelings aren't sappy.
Taking in that sweet peace,
I find my lost song.
My energy now increases...
Here I will remain strong.

So great job and congrats on spotlight

So lets get started, The poem was short and filled with emotions but there is one issue that @InfiniteRectangles pointed out ... The line "And feelings aren't sappy." It feels forced unlike the other lines.

The lines all start capitalized which isnt a big deal its probably just me

"My energy now increases...
Here I will remain strong."

Again this really isnt a big deal but I would try moving or adding a "..." into the middle of "how" and "I"

Sorry this was short and unhelpfull but good job and keep writing

Hello, InfiniteRectangles here!

First, congrats on making the literary spotlight!

Okay, on to the review! I really loved this poem. It was short, yet so sweet. You managed to capture so much emotion in such a short poem and, as a writer of short poetry myself, I understand how difficult this can be. But you made it look so natural! Your flow was consistent, and your flow was mostly natural. That being said, since this is a review, I felt the need to find at least one thing to constructively criticize (although you aren't making this easy for me! xD)

The only thing that stood out to me in this poem as unusual is this line:
"And feelings aren't sappy."
All of your other rhymes sound so natural and this line, well, it sounds like it was only used for the rhyme scheme's sake. In other words, this rhyme sounded a tad bit forced. I would try changing it up a bit to make it more natural, but that is just a suggestion.

Anyway, that is all I have for you. Sorry this review was so short, but there wasn't much to review because this poem was absolutely beautiful. I'm looking forward to reading more of your work. Keep writing and have a wonderful day/night! :D

Thanks so much! :D Here's the definition for sappy:

sappy: excessively sentimental; mawkish
sentimental: of or prompted by feelings of sadness or nostalgia

Hello Keep writing!!

This is Eros here to review your beautiful poetry!!

This is a short piece of poetry. I like your talent of expressing so many feelings in such a few words. This piece of poetry is an example. The most lovely thing which I loved about it is the rhyming scheme. You have used a rhyming scheme of abab, without even disturbing the meaning. The theme is entirely different. You have described the actions like running of the hand trough the hair, and the feelings of relaxation, safety, etc very nicely. I like the variety of words you have used here.
This was a GREAT work!
Keep writing...
because we all love to keep reading your work.
And, please Keepwriting, may I request you a review for my work, The corpse part 1? You may review it whenever you get time, or whenever you feel like.
:D

This is just WOW!!! I mean this poem is more than amazing. The flow is good. The rhyming order is excellent. You have done a really great job. So let's be honest when I read the title I thought that this poem is just going to be A GENERAL ONE with no specificity. But when I read it, It blew me away.

I just want to give you a bit of advice to improve this poem and that is to split it up in stanzas. And by splitting it up it will look more beautiful. There are twelve lines in this poem (it's crazy I counted the lines :) ) so yo can easily split them in three stanzas.

But overall it's perfect. Good job pal. :)

Hello! This is amazing! :D I only have one small question though; something I was confused about.
"And feelings aren't sappy."
What's this supposed to mean?
Anyway, great work! *clicks like*

sappy definition: excessively sentimental; mawkish
sentimental: of or prompted by feelings of sadness or nostalgia

I might not have used it correctly. xD I'm glad you liked it! (:

I think that was when I began to realize that reputation isn't everything. I should focus less about how others perceive me and more about what makes me happy. Because, in the end, I have to live with myself.
