The sunflower that nobody knows

In My Poetry

Once, my friend said I was funny, always smiling, and never a sad person.
But that day, I smiled because I didn't even understand what they meant. Today, I realized that even my friend doesn't know the real me.
The one who cries like the sky at night,
who writes silly poems about everything,
who always stares at the ceiling in the dark,
who makes everyone comfortable
and makes others smile with my own smile like a bright yellow sunflower.
Yet, no one ever saw the dried, dark roses like pain hidden behind that smile.
Now, I'm not crying because they don't know me.
I'm smiling because a smile is the only thing I know how to put on my face.
