It was a quiet night. An unanswered silence filled the air all around me. The road was empty with only few flickering streetlights gasping for life just like me. For a second, I even saw my reflection in them. I just kept walking, without knowing where I was going. I had already lost all hope within my heart. I looked like an incomplete story.
I slowly pulled my hair back with my hands and tied it up with a small flower-shaped clip that hold my hair loosely . My sigh echoed back to me on that road.
I looked at the huge sky, but it looked like it was going to cry even when its heart glowing in silver . I looked around me and heard the soft melody of waves kissing the shores and the sweet scent of sand. I started to follow that melody. Slowly, I got closer to it.
I looked straight at it and saw the sea—the way the waves and shores were happy. For the first time, I was not mesmerized by that. I just kept going.
I could feel the sand under my feet giggling at me, but I didn't react. My eyes followed the surroundings; it was just a huge emptiness, and I was standing alone there like a small, dried lotus among fresh sunflowers.
I glanced at the lonely dark cliff above the ocean, looking at me like it was calling me. I moved toward it, and slowly, I found myself standing on that cliff. I looked down at the sea and above at the sky, sobbing. In between them, I was standing.
I stepped closer to the edge.
The breeze stopped playing with my hair. It started to pass by me, yet it didn't even look at me. I sighed, and my eyes got glossy. I don't know why—maybe I was scared, or just from pure loneliness.
My palms clenched into fists, my heart trapped in between my ribs like a wingless bird, and I looked down at that beautiful height, making me gasp. I looked at the sky one last time. A faint smile tugged at my lips like it was my last smile , and I whispered between my lips,
"Goodbye, sky..."
I closed my eyes and moved an inch.
Before I let myself surrender to gravity, a warm palm suddenly wrapped around my wrist. The touch was just so soft. Like how clouds hug the moon, When no one is watching.
That sudden pull spun me right around. My hair came loose as I gasped. And right there, in the stillness of that moment, I found myself staring into eyes as dark as the ocean. I don't know why, it makes my heart beats fast. For a second, I couldn't look away.
Just like that, everything paused.
The clouds stopped moving, the waves stopped meeting the shores, the sky's tears paused in the middle, and for a second, my heart smiled with an unknown warmth...

And somehow, that stranger became my friend.
i can't forget that night
Wow!! This story is so good and every word in the start emphasizes the loneliness just the way it needs to.
Words like "My eyes followed the surroundings; it was just a huge emptiness, and I was standing alone there like a small, dried lotus among fresh sunflowers" help the reader understand how lonely the person is.
However, the story becomes harder to follow and becomes a million possibilities near the ending. " I looked at the sky one last time. A faint smile tugged at my lips like it was my last smile , and I whispered between my lips,
"Goodbye, sky..."
I closed my eyes and moved an inch.
Before I let myself surrender to gravity, a warm palm suddenly wrapped around my wrist."
Here, I feel kind of confused because you said you smiled like it was your last smile and you said goodbye to the sky. This indicates in one way or another; that you were going to suicide remembering that you were on a cliff from these previous lines:"I glanced at the lonely dark cliff above the ocean, looking at me like it was calling me. I moved toward it, and slowly, I found myself standing on that cliff. I looked down at the sea and above at the sky, sobbing. In between them, I was standing.
I stepped closer to the edge."
And then you said something pulled you meaning you were saved and a warmth you had not felt in a long time came back. I think it would be better if you gave more details about this and who saved you and how because then we would understand the originality of the returning lost warmth better. TYSM!
Thank you so much for the review! I'm really glad you liked the lotus and sunflower line. For the ending, I actually wanted to leave it unanswered on purpose. so the reader can imagine what happens next and who the stranger is. But thank you for the feedback, it means a lot! :
