In My Poetry

I'm a bird with wings, but don't want to fly,
I am a star, yet not beautiful,
I am a shore with a shell yet no waves touch me,
I am the moon in the sky but no one looks at me,
I am a sun that gives darkness,
I am a sky with a broken heart that always cries,
I am soil with roots but trees never give shade,
I am the breeze with nowhere to go.....

Hi! I loved this poem. It's short and simple but conveys a lot of strong feelings in a brilliant way. I understood it to be about feeling cut off from your own worth, so you feel or know that you have potential, beauty, or something to give the world, but you are unable to use it or have it seen by others. A very strong message!

Some suggestions for improvement:

I'm a bird with wings, but don't want to fly,

Maybe 'but I don't want to fly'

I am a star, yet not beautiful,

'yet I am not beautiful'

I think using 'I or 'I am' in the examples helps the sentences feel more complete and balanced with the first clause.

I am a shore with a shell yet no waves touch me,

just one single shell? I love this image overall but surely 'a shore with shells' makes more sense here. And there should be a comma after shell.

I am the moon in the sky but no one looks at me,

should be a comma after sky (you do this in the first two lines, so this makes it consistent throughout)

I am a sun that gives darkness,

a very nice oxymoron here

I am soil with roots but trees never give shade,

this line doesn't quite make sense to me. I do understand the image, but the soil doesn't have roots, a tree has roots in soil. Maybe 'I am a tree with deep roots, but I never give shade?'

I also wouldn't have a comma at the end of the lines- either a period or no punctuation- just to keep grammar consistent!

<3 keep writing!

Hiii! I'm Azzy! I'm gonna write a little review on ur poem :333

I'm always down for some repetition! In fact, repetition can make a poem better! With that said, I love the repetition of the phrase 'I am'! It puts emphasis on what you're trying to say or the message you're trying to put out!

I am a shore with a shell yet no waves touch me

This is such a nice line to me! I don't know why, but it just speaks to me, and I'm sure it does to others :D

There are a few 'tweaks' with this poem, tho!

I am the brezze with nowhere to go.....

Simple spelling mistake, it happens! I make so many spelling mistakes when texting or writing, mainly because I type TOO fast! My tip is to slow down when typing (if ur like me) or after you finish writing a line, paragraph, stanza, etc etc-- go back a check for spelling or grammar mistakes! Spelling mistakes are something that every writer has experienced, so don't feel discouraged! I made a spelling mistake typing this review, help </33333

I am a star yet don't look beautiful,

This could be worded a bit better, but I understand what you were trying to say nevertheless!

Overall, this was a nice poem! Keep writing, and have a good day, lovely! I believe in you :D
