I just need to see your smile

In My Poetry

if you asked me to change the seasons,
I would make rain fall in winter,
snow fall in summer,
make leaves fall on you in spring,
and make flowers bloom in autumn for you.
If you asked for a rainbow at night,
I would come into your dreams as a silly rainbow,
just to make you smile.
If you asked me how much I loved you,
I would say—
like the moon loves the stars,
like the ocean loves the shore,
like the sun loves the sky,
like the clouds love the earth,
like the leaves love their branches,
like fire loves water,
like a wall loves its clock,
and even more than all of them.
And if you asked me to let my final winter come,
just to make you happy,
I would happily rest my head in your lap and close my eyes,
because even as the cold wind blows around us,
I would want the last place I ever knew
to be safe beside you....

heyo!!! We meet once again!!

I noticed this is a little different from your usual formats, which is intriguing in it's own way.

like the moon loves the stars,
like the ocean loves the shore,
like the sun loves the sky,
like the clouds love the earth,
like the leaves love their branches,
like fire loves water,
like a wall loves its clock,

the repetitive use of the word "like" in this section is interesting, I enjoy it. One thing I have a question about is the line that says "Like fire loves water." This could be interpreted in a few ways, but one may automatically think that fire would hate water because water would put it out.

The poem appears to shift from love going out to said person, and ends with how much the narrator loves the person. Interesting there.

anyway, I have a class to get to :)
