In My Poetry

I want to die, please kill me.
I want to live, please save me.
I'm going to make my body bleed to satisfy myself.
Please save me.
I know you can't.

I want to die, please kill me.
I want to live, please save me.
I'm going to drink that dark liquid to quench my thirst.
Please save me.
I know you can't.

I want to die, please kill me.
I want to live, please save me.
I'm going to stand somewhere high like a queen and fall to gravity.
Please save me.
I know you can't—

Because you don't even know what I'm thinking.

Moon, this genuinely hurts to read because you can feel how much pain and conflict there is behind every line, especially the contrast between wanting to die and wanting to live. The repetition makes it feel like the writer is desperately asking to be heard, while also feeling like nobody can understand what is happening inside their head, and that last line really hits because sometimes people can be struggling so much without anyone around them realising. I relate to this more than I wish I did, and I really hope you’re okay, Moon. I care about you so much, and I genuinely want you to be safe and still be here. You can talk to me any time, about anything, even if you don’t know how to explain what you’re feeling or you just need someone to listen. You don’t have to pretend you’re okay with me, and you don’t have to deal with everything alone. I really hope none of the things you’ve written about are things you’re doing or feeling pushed towards doing, and if they are, please know that you deserve help, care and support, not to suffer in silence. I wish I could make sure you knew how much you matter, because I don’t want you to feel like nobody would understand or notice your pain. You’re genuinely so talented, Moon, and the way you express such complicated emotions through your writing is powerful. I admire your talent so much, but I care about you as a person even more than I care about your writing. Please look after yourself, and if you’re struggling, you can tell me. You matter so much more than you might realise.

Dang moon.

This hurt me.

I'm not even thinking that this is just for poetry. These are your thoughts and that alone haunts me.

I want to die, please kill me.
I want to live, please save me.

The fact that you keep repeating these scares me yet also feels so very real.

I'm going to make my body bleed to satisfy myself.

Please don't. This made me tear up. It feels so very real that I was feeling it deep inside.

I'm going to drink that dark liquid to quench my thirst.

Drinking something that I don't know scares me horribly that I could shiver at the sight.

I'm going to stand somewhere high like a queen and fall to gravity.

Heights are my biggest fears. My chest clenched tightly when I read this, and I felt like my breath just sucked in.

Please save me.
I know you can't—

This scared me. I nearly stopped breathing. And I felt

so

horribly

awful.

I wish I could.

Because you don't even know what I'm thinking.

My dear, tell me what you're thinking. Please. I'm begging you.

If I could know what your thoughts are;

I would hold you

I would tell you that everything is okay

I would do anything to help you.

This was by far one of the scariest yet one of my favorite poems, moon. <3
