It Is Incredible

In Poetry

It takes my breath away, how I
Can imagine and then later on
Create pictures out of my own head,
Or copy them from a picture.
Sweeping paintbrushes and pencils
Across the temporarily blank page.
A blank page can be beautiful,
But it can be frustrating if you
Aren't quite sure what to put on it.

It's incredible how I, can create pictures
Not only with my paintbrushes,
But with my pen as well. Forming words,
And molding them into something
Truly beautiful and personal.
And then make a reader feel,
Exactly what I am feeling.

It's amazing how I, can use music
To bend notes at my will, to sing
The sorrows of the world in just
One song, four short minutes.

Isn't it incredible how I,
Measly little me, have been blessed.
With abilities as numerous as the stars?
How amazing is it that I
Feel such sorrow, but my God,
My Savior, gave me ways
To express my emotions?

And my dear, isn't it incredible,
How if you put forth effort,
You could do the same?

Hello, hello, hello!
This is a lovely piece you have written here. There really isn't anything that I can say should be changed or fixed about it; everything seems perfectly fine. The way you separated each line and the stanzas makes the work flow well. It's also aesthetically pleasing; there is no stanza nor line that is too short or too long.

These are my favorite stanzas because you're saying how you can create pictures with your words as well and make the reader see/feel what you want them too. Only talented writers have that ability. The part about singing the world's sorrows in a song is also a unique talent that not many people can do.

Over all this is a wonderful work of art you have written here. The grammar, spelling, and spacing is all swell. :)
Keep writing,

"This is not bragging". Much. :-)
I totally agree with this poem, that, with time and effort, most things are achievable. You don't need to be a singer to sing or a dancer to dance, for amazing things are amazing, no matter how common or easy.
And thanks for capitalizing God, it really gets on my nerves! :-)
Keep up the good work,
Take That You Fiend!

Well hello there!!

To be honest, yeah!! I simply LOVED it!! All those lines and every single word was so good together. It's so incredible indeed how mere words define deep emotions. Being a writer or an artist sometimes to some looks only imagination, defying the truth but we know that it's not just that. Imaginations are inspirations from realities and it's amazing how an artist is able to portray it and how a writer is able to personify it.
I liked how finished with the note of motivation to those who think " they can't write".

INCREDIBLE JOB !!

Hey defyinggravity :)

I'd like to start off by saying that this poem does have a lot of truth in it - It affects me because I'm one of those who often don't put forth the effort... :P

One thing I would say is that sometimes you have started a new line where you needn't have, which just affects the flow of the reading.

Also in the second last stanza (from "Isn't it incredible how I, Measly little me...) perhaps consider changing all the "I" 's and "Me" 's to "us" and "we". This might make your poem a little more inclusive, because by the end I felt a little excluded and it may give your reader hope in their own abilities :)

My favourite parts were:

"A blank page can be beautiful,
But it can be frustrating..."

This is an awesome line - many writers/artists would find truth in it :)

"And my dear, isn't it incredible,
How if you put forth effort,
You could do the same? "

This is a really good ending - short and effective.
Well done :)
