A Mother

In Poetry

A mother is like the sun
A glorious, gentle, warm glow
From morning till dusk

A mother is like the ocean
Beautiful and soothing
But fierce when it comes to protecting

A mother is like a path
Beautiful and breathtaking
And always leading you to the right place

A mother is like the wind
Cool and comforting
On a hot summer’s day

A mother is like a fire
Full of protection and warmth
And always lighting the way

A mother is like an angel
Full of grace, beauty,
And will always surround you with love.

A mother is one of God’s most trusted servants
Always showing us the way, showing us love,
Loving us even though we may stray,
And they will do their best to keep us on the right path.

Happy Mother’s Day

Though I don't think it flows at all, it does have a great and heartfelt message-truly appropriate as a commemoration of an event, nothing more and nothing less. Great work-just maybe rework it into something more catchy and you'll see it on a hallmark card someday! :)

Hey, like she said, this piece is great and definitely a wonderful tribute to mothers!
Sunstarfrozenlife, I happen to think that her imagery fits, take for instance: when it's summer, it's hot and uncomfortable but when a cool wind blows? So that even in life, mothers represent a freshness when life becomes unbearable, a little bit like sunshine after the rain. I hope that's what you intended to potray here Forestqueen. Good job!

That's beautiful, FQ! I loved it! And, for the first time, I only have one thing to nit-pick at! Well doen!

This just didn't ring with me because.... how is a mother cool and comforting on a hot summers day... I don't know, the symbolism didn't really hit a note with me. The rest of it is so meaningful, and then something about cooling off someone on a day that's hot? I dunno...

But I loved it! Beautiful! Your mom will adore it!

Morning without you is a dwindled dawn.
