Life Goal.

In The Satirical Collection

Based on a true story!

'Twas 12:00,
The time of the meeting.
Mikey is so nervous,
He hasn't eaten.

Today is his sixth grade meeting,
And his mom is coming.
She can be strict,
But also be loving.

What is Mikey's goal?
To be the very best.
He'll go over obstacles,
Without any rest.

Time has come,
To the deadline.
This may seem struggling,
But he'll be fine.

Sitting there with his teacher,
His mother arrives.
Today he declares,
What he wants to do with his life.

The teacher asks,
"What do you want to do?"
He starts shaking,
Looking like a fool.

He stands up,
To stop this disaster.
He stomps his feet down and declares,
"I want to be a Pokemon Master!"

Wow, I really liked this poem!
It had this solemn humor to it...i really enjoyed it!

"He stomps his feet down and declares,
"I want to be a Pokemon Master!" "

For some reason, I was totally picturing a boy stomping his feet, and declaring that he wants to be a pokemon master, it sent me into fits of laughter!

I like how the sentence are short and direct.

In the sentence -

Mikey is so nervous,
He hasn't eaten.

- I found the 'eaten' part a bit out of place in the case of rhythm, but otherwise okay.

Keep writing!

This is such a cute poem. I love the description and how you are wanting to know what is going to happen to Mikey and what he had done. I wish there were more rhythm to this. For example, you could rhyme a bit more. I see an attempt at the 2nd stanza but you need to work on that.
I think it would cool if you have a preclude that was called Day in and Day out and in this poem you have Mikey playing video games all summer. All of a sudden, something happens. Back to the poem, I think here you could have the teacher give an assignment where they have to say what they want to be when they grow up. If you already did this, make it a little more obvious.
At the beginning, at the first sentence, you could go 'Twas the first day of school or whenever this happens. This can give the first sentence a more comical effect. Bringing the reader in. You did a wonderful job at the end, leaving the reader with a smile on their face. When I read any poem, I like to be dragged in or I become bored. This poem did a good job with this.
I think the part in the second stanza about Mikey's mom is a bit random and if you want to include this in there, you need to transition better. All in all, you did a great job with many things and I enjoyed reviewing your piece. Have a great day!

Ahahah, nice one, Strange, nice. I was afraid that this was going to be something not strange with the opening line, but knowing you. Anyways, let's get on with this horrible review.

So, I'm not master at poetry, or satire and I'm on a tablet so excuse any mistakes I make. The purpose of this poem, I suppose is to make fun of the question, of what do you want to be when you grow up? In any case, I think the content is a unique one. There isn't much imagery here yet I think you intended it that way. A literal poem meant to be taken literally. That being said, you could have made your language somewhat more interesting. Because it feels like I'm reading a primary school kid's poem.

The first two stanza, is very cliche with the word choice and content. Is also short and s bit flat, is complete telling. What I'm trying to say is, you've got the idea down right. Except the way you've written it doesn't seem like a poem to me. All the lines are too flat, so it seems like someone is stating them instead of showing it.

Though, I did enjoy that ending. Packed quite a laugh. xD. And if this was real, well then, bonus!

Sorry if I just trashed your poem with my horrible review.
