Who Needs Answers?

Who needs answers?
And who wants one, anyway?
You read my poem, review my stuff,
and ask me questions.
Why?
Does life give perfect answers?
Not for me.
Sure, I see the lack of clarity-
I know my words aren't great-
But answers?
Of all the things
that I've done wrong-
those questions don't belong.
You don't need all the details.
You don't need all the news.
You want a full fledged story?
Fine. I wrote a novel-
read that.
I'll give you information.
But poetry?
Poetry's not an essay,
not a list of dos and don'ts.
My poetry
is not a place for you to find an answer.
You want more?
Make it up.
Tell your own story.
But as for me...
my poetry
is not a list of answers.
Who needs answers anyway?

(I'm an amateur, hence the blank comment)

Wait, just what is this about exactly? . . . please write a poem about me :) Ha just playing but I like this. I've thought about being political on here with my writings but I guess I'm just a coward; a lowly member with nowhere enough reviews (though I am working on that). It always bugs me when people comment on punctuation or capitalization as well instead entertaining the thought that it might be the way it is for a reason.

I think context is important as well. Having read this makes me want to read more of your poems. So many people just write a quick review and then never look at your work again instead of reading more of your work to get a better idea about who you are and how that comes through in the writing.

This makes me want to see whether the rest of your work is of a lighter (or darker) subject and whether I can spot any poems that may be about other reviewers.

Nice piece and good luck with the rock turners!

Thank you. Maybe I will write a poem about you. :P I think I'll also go through and read some of your stuff. I really appreciate you wanting to read some of mine. :D It makes me feel very honored!

Love the sentiment. :) My poetry doesn't have answers either.

My poetry
is not a place for you to find an answer.

The line break here seems very choppy because there's such a length difference between the two.
There doesn't seem to be any imagery in the poetry at all. I know it's a hard subject to write imagery about, since you're writing a poem about a review, but you could...oh, I don't know. Ignore that part.
The poem seems to ramble a bit. First it's talking about answers, then details, then information, and then answers again. I can see how they're connected, but it seems like one long rant.

Okay, so, I was just a bit frustrated, and wrote this pretty quickly. Feel free to review the crap out of it. Don't be intimidated by the fact that it's responding to someone else's review on one of my other pieces. :D I really am a nice person. And, if I don't like what you have to say, I'll just write a poem about you. :D

There is nothing more radical or counter-cultural, at the moment, than laying down one’s cynicism in favour of tender vulnerability.
