Demi Lovato Loves Sketchers

PreviousNext

Am I the only one
distracted by this mundane announcement?
Colorful and effective, sure.
But at the cost of my concentration!
I sit here
constructing an imagination for myself
and I simply can't think
of the next words I'll write;
all because someone paid
more money than my college tuition
to slap a pretty picture on my screen saying
'Demi Lovato Loves Sketchers"

I love this! Short and sweet, makes you think but it's not overloaded with emotion or overkill. Perfect satire. Nice job!

Alright, this is clever what more is there to say? You know how I were and how to give humor to it. I have a feeling there is no deeper meaning, and to be honest I'm glad there isn't. The statement is quite easy to get. I'm getting the vibe that the idea of this overall poem is:

I get it! Demi Lavatory loves sketchers! Now shut up!

That's just the vibe I'm getting for this. This poem seems to be coming out of an annoyance for this ad. And I like how creative you were by wronging a funny poem about it. This little rally made my day a touch better. You made some annoying ad into a funny poem that is gonna get lots of likes (at least you will from me :))

I like humorous poems, I think that they get lost in a sea of poems about depressing topics (I'm guilty of this) and hike these poems are important and good to read I think that poems like these add a ray of sunshine in sometimes a dark poetry world.

You know how to make an audience laugh by simply ranting about an ad. What more is the to say. It's entertaining I read about other people's annoyances and rants. That might sound weird... But just go with it lol :).

Overall, thank you for brightening up the poem world by adding a humorous yet entertaining piece. And I really hope that that ad just stops bugging you haha!

Keep writing bro.

Haha! This is definitely the first poem I've read about an ad, so good job on originality. I like the light heartedness of it; a lot of poems these days reflect sad lives. I especially love the lines "all because someone paid / more money than my college tuition" because its so amazingly accurate. I doubt Demi Lovato even wears sketchers. I doubt she wears anything that isn't designer. Anyway, good job on the poem, it definitely made me chuckle. Keep writing!

HAHA! Nice thought! It shows how ridiculous the system can be.

I can tell that you put your true feeling into this poem. My favorite line is "I simply can't think/of the next words I'll write;/all because someone paid/more money than my college tuition". This adds humor to the poem, and it made me smile. I also like how, even though you are complaining about the advertisement, you describe it using positive words (colorful and effective). This reveals both sides of the argument: the advertisers and you.
