Sitting in this classroom,
it starts to feel like a tomb.
According to the students,
the bell can’t ring too soon.
At the front of the room,
the teacher stands.
Attempting to get our attention,
by jumping and waving their hands.
Because the teacher has something,
to get into our heads.
Just one short lesson,
before the class ends.
“Please focus your attention up here.
I have something to say,
that you're going to want to hear”
Sighs the teacher in the front.
Their students have been like this
for several long months.
Seemingly stuck,
in some internal rut.
The ending of which is not clear,
but one thing is certain,
the teacher needs our attention up there.
Stuck at a crossroad,
the issue is clear.
The students minds are elsewhere,
but the teacher needs them here.
Closer and closer the end of the period draws near,
and still nothing has been accomplished here.
Then rings the bell and the teacher proclaimed
“This is due tomorrow, have a nice day!”

This is a very realistic description of most classrooms today! Especially mine, I have ZERO interest in school lately. And it feels like I am in some "tomb" indeed, except that I'm living my death!
So anyway, nice poetry! The ending was very realistic, too, as the teachers always put us off by piling homework at the end of the class as if to signify that NO, THE TORTURE IS NOT OVER YET!
Keep it up!

Hello, @Collideascope! I am @emeraldfox, representing the Night Furies this review day!
YES!!! THANK YOU FOR WRITING THIS!!! I have been feeling lately that school does more harm than good. It just doesn't seem like a healthy environment to be in. There is so much pressure on us to constantly keep going for seven hours each day, five days each week, plus at least two hours of homework each night. That is at least 45 hours each week, which is more than many adults work. And the schools themselves aren't happy places that encourage learning. The lights are too bright, there isn't much color, we almost never see natural light (my school doesn't have windows and we can't eat lunch outside), and the setting almost never changes between classrooms. And the teaching styles used by most teachers aren't effective for a lot of students. Our schools don't promote actual learning, just test scores. I have friends who force themselves to throw up in the mornings so they can't go to school!
Woah. Sorry. I went on my own personal rant there. Okay, back to your poem...
Your poem brought a lot of issues that are found in schools into a format that is easy to follow. It flowed well and had great rhymes. Anyone in an American public school could easily relate to this (I don't know what it is like in other countries). You also used punctuation very well to add emphasis to this poem. You didn't have any grammar, spelling, capitalization, or punctuation errors.
Nice job! Sorry this wsn't a great review-it was mostly me ranting. :/ But you did a great job writing this. I could definitely relate and based on the other reviews, many other people can, too. *likes*
A very vivid description of a modern classroom today.
I enjoyed reading about it. In a way, it kind of bought back memories having me thinking about
Highschool and all the things that were done then. The teacher complaining and trying to calm us down, yet it was no use. By the time the noise subdued class was over and we had learned nothing, lol. Anyway, keep up the good work!
I enjoyed this poem a lot. I also hated school so I entered into independent study. However, I still feel your pain. I like how you expressed your disdain for school in a mature way. And by that I mean you didn't sound like a snot nose rebellious teenage that gets in trouble a lot and thinks that school "Is a waste of time." You know what I mean? Lol. School is essential to are lives, but it is still extremely frustrating which you already brought out. Your similes and metaphors are on point. I also enjoyed how you added dialogue. Sometimes dialogue can ruin a poem, but how you did it, it flowed very smoothly.
"Sitting in this class room, it starts to feel like a tomb."
I especially loved this simile. It feels as if I am actually back in a classroom in, dare I say it, a real public school. Ew, lol. Anyways good job and keep up the good work. Have a good day at school and happy writing. Good job.
Hello!

You're a brave kid, i pray that you'll prosper in your life and go very high!
It's a nice poem and almost everyone can relate to this, i guess. the way you've written it with your imagination and how you have described the situation (at the school/class) is praise-worthy. Very good job.
And, as far as i have known, you don't make silly mistakes ( like me -_- ) and you're good in using punctuations so, i better not mention that.
"Closer and closer the end of the period draws near,

Then rings the bell and the teacher proclaimed
“This is due tomorrow, have a nice day!”
Very true and funny, it made me laugh!
Anyway, good work. and, here's a thing, i wanted to tell you. You're only 13 but you writings are really great. I wish i could do like that from your age. But, anyway.
Eeee! Good day! Have fun!

Hello!
Very funny, it seems like this is all that happens in my class every day...
I only have one little nitpick.
Great job, and keep writing!

I like this!
I think you should right these in stanzas, like separating every "group of rhymes" with a line. Like this-
"Sitting in this classroom,
it starts to feel like a tomb.
According to the students,
the bell can't ring too soon.
At the front of the room...."
Other than that, I loved this!

Stay Awesome
HAHAHA love it!! <3 It's cute i like how you rhymed the lines. I like the imagery you used in this work. you can feel the anticipation and irritation of the student, and the desperation of the teacher. Also it's something everyone can relate too. That crazy class the teacher has given up on.
LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINES I LIIIIIIIIIKED!!!!!!
