You are still continuing to follow this person. They are dressed in all black so you and Izzy have no clue who it is.
By now you’ve been walking for at least twenty minutes. The person is walking fairly quickly, as if not wanting to be seen, which is pretty easy to tell since they are dressed in all black.
Finally there is a small opening in the forest. The person runs to it looking around making sure no one is follow them. You look at Izzy then come out behind the trees, to find a medium sized, old, warn down, wooden shed in the middle of the woods.
“Who in their right mind would want to build a random shed in the middle of the woods?” Izzy asked.
“Be quiet.” You reply. “You don’t want the person to hear you.”
“Oh please, from all the way out here, no chance.”
“Yes chance. It’s not sound proof. Come on we need to get a closer look.”
“No, this is as far as I’m going.”
“Fine then stay here, that’s your choice, not mine. I’m going. Adam could be here. This is very suspicious and the perfect place to hide a person who you are planning on killing.”
“Well no one ever said they were going to kill him Irene.”
“Yes, Toby did, and people don’t plan murders out loud Izzy.”
“I know, but you would’ve thought we would’ve heard them talking about it.”
“No Izzy. Again they’d probably talk about it here.”
“Fine, but I think we should at least go back and get Marilyn or something.”
“Izzy. There is no time. We have to do this ourselves, plus I don’t want to bring Marilyn somewhere, where she could get hurt again. Now are you coming or not?”
“Irene, this isn’t a good idea. It’s not safe, and you don’t know who is in the black mask.”
“Do you?”
“No, but this isn’t a good idea Irene. It’s not safe at all.” Izzy said sounding suspicious.
“Are you coming Izzy, or not?” You start to walk off.
“Fine.” Izzy says as she starts walking slowly to you.
You move towards the door to the shed you hear two people arguing.
“Why are you here?”
“I didn’t think I’d run into you.”
“You shot him. You tried to kill someone from our side. If you want to play a shoot them up game buy a X-Box or PlayStation. You could also kill all Irene’s friends for all I care.”
“Why are you doing this? She’s innocent.”
“No she’s not.”
“Yes she is.”
“I’m much smarter than you so I suggest you stop talking before you get a bullet to your head.”
“What did she ever do to harm you?”
“Shut up” The woman shouts.
Then you hear a gun shot and a scream like in a horror movie.
After hearing what you just hear, you run towards Izzy grab her arm and bolt away from the shed door. You hide behind some trees in the woods where they wouldn’t be able to see you.
“What the hell.” Izzy said.
“I think someone just got killed.”
“What? Who?”
“I don’t know, but I don’t think Adam wasn’t in there, what now? We have no place to go to look for Adam. No hints, no anything.”
“Irene relax. We’ll find him together. You should call Marilyn.” Izzy says.
“Why? There’s no point to any of this anymore. I quit this silly game. Maya wins, they all win.”
“Irene we are still in the game.”
“No Izzy, don’t you understand. They have already took all of our side. Look at us. We are getting nowhere. Think about it Izzy, we have no clues, Adam’s missing, and that leaves us and we can’t do anything.”
“Irene we still have Marilyn and we haven’t lost.”
“Izzy just get out. Look earlier you said you didn’t know who was behind the mask. I know you did. I thought we weren’t going to lie to each other anymore. You’re still helping them Izzy. You knew who was behind that black mask. You no more than what you’re saying you do.”
“Irene, that’s not true.”
“Oh, my God Izzy. I’m so sick of hearing your lies. Get out and leave me alone. I don’t want to see you or hear you lies anymore. You aren’t helping.”
“Irene, I’m sorry. It’s complicated.”
“Izzy you have a choice. It’s either me, or them. You can’t be on both sides, you need to pick one. I think you should pick their side. You pretty much know all their secrets, and in fact you probably know where Adam is.”
“Irene where are you going to go?”
“I still have my shelter in the woods, back in New York.”
“You can’t go back there. Everyone knows about that now, and it’s not safe anymore. For God sakes it’s in the middle of the woods.”
“So I’m aware, but it’s much better than staying with a liar on the other side.”
“Irene please, I’m not on the other side. I’m on your side.”
“Yeah, then who was behind the mask?”
“I don’t know Irene. That’s the truth I really don’t.”
“Then why act so suspicious?”
“I’m not suspicious, I’m scared, of what’s going to happen to you, to me, to all of us.”
“Fair point, but I still don’t know whose side you’re taking. First it was Amber’s, now it’s mine. I don’t know any more Izzy, I really don’t.” You say.
“Irene, you’re just stressing about Adam. We’ll find him, I promise. And the only way we are going to find him is if we try.”
“Where are we supposed to go look? We have nothing.”
“We will start with this shed. We have to at least peak through the door.”
“Alright, let’s go.”
You walk up to the shed door, and you open just so it’s cracked making sure whoever is inside won’t hear you.
You open the door and someone is inside. One the floor lies the person in the black mask who is knocked out cold, bleeding through his or her side.
You see the other person, her back turned to you. As she turns around you see her face. It’s Amber standing at the scene of the crime. You take a quick picture with your phone of Amber and the dead body on the floor. She looks up at the door, and see you.
“Well, well, well. What do we have here? A couple of spy’s. Want a better look, come inside.” Amber walks over and opens the door.
“Don’t be shy come in come in.” Amber says.
She pulls your arm and drags you inside. Izzy is dragged inside too. You see Izzy and Amber glance at each other as if Amber is trying to say “keep quiet” but you aren’t sure. You want to trust Izzy, but you don’t know if you can. To what you’ve noticed she’s been acting really weird and suspicious lately, you’re worried that she isn’t on your side, and that she isn’t who she seems to be.
Amber pushes you away from the door and locks it, locking you in the room.
“I know you’re here to look for Adam.” Amber says. “So go ahead, look.”
You look to the floor, and there you see the unconscious body. You take off the black mask, and it’s Paige.
“You killed her?” You ask staring at Amber.
She lets out a little chuckle. “She got what she deserved, and she’s not dead. Anyway if you happen to overhear the argument which I’m sure you did, then you would know why.”
“She shot Toby because…” She cut you off.
“Because she wanted to protect Adam. Look we cannot have that on our side. It doesn’t work. She’s either with us or with you, and it looks like she’s with you, and I couldn’t just let that fly. I had to do something about it.” Amber says
“Yes, but why would she shoot Toby? I thought they were friends.” Izzy chimed in.
“Well they were friends, that is until Toby smashed her little heart, by telling her they aren’t friends and that they were never friends, she didn’t know what to do, so she stuck up for you shooting Toby. Luckily Toby is alright, so there is no need to worry about your dear old brother Irene.”
“I’m not worried about that backstabber of a brother. I don’t even know for sure if he is my brother. I don’t know anything.”
“Oh trust me, he is your brother.”
“Why the hell would I trust you?”
“I’m not a liar am I?”
“I think you know the answer to that question.”
Amber goes over, and unlocks the door and opens it. She takes your arm shoving you out, but keeping Izzy inside.
“It was very nice to see you Irene, but I’m afraid Isabella and I have some unfinished business to take care off. Tata”
With that Amber pushes you out the door.
You hear Izzy and Amber begin to argue.
“Okay Isabella, are you with her, or with me. You can’t know all my secrets if you are going to tell her…” Amber says.
“I’m with her Amber. You know that. And I don’t know your secrets.” Izzy replies.
“Shut up.”
“Why did you kill Paige?”
“Oh my God Isabella. What do you not understand about the words ‘shut and up’ and no I didn’t kill Paige she’s fine.”
“Amber, she’s laying on the floor unconscious.”
“Fine then call Marilyn for all I care. She can’t do anything about it. Go ahead call 9-1-1. Tell them there’s an almost dead girl laying in a shed in the middle of the woods. Nobody will find her here.”
“What?! How could you do this to an innocent girl? For crying out loud Amber she didn’t do anything to you.”
“You may be right, but she shot Toby. You cannot just practically kill someone on your team.”
“Fair point, but still.”
“Fine Izzy. She’s not dead…” That’s all you hear. The rest is a whisper. After a few more moments of quiet chattering that you cannot make out you hear the last words of Amber. “Don’t tell anyone about this Izzy. No one can know.”
Izzy says nothing more and walks out and goes directly towards the car.
“Izzy what was that about?” You ask confused.
“It was nothing.”
“Izzy, you and Amber were whispering. It is obviously something you and her didn’t want me to know. What’s going on?”
“Irene, can’t for one moment of your life can’t you just let it go and let me have my secrets.”
“Izzy, this could be important, this could help us find Adam, or anything.”
“Oh my God Irene. Just let it go. Stop fighting with me okay.”
“If Amber and you are planning something Izzy.”
“Okay, so what if were hiding something. It’s not like you care. You have Marilyn and Adam.” She said with a very angry tone.
“I don’t have Adam he’s missing remember, and Izzy if you had something to do with this.”
“Stop accusing me of things I didn’t do Irene that’s all you do.” With that Izzy pulls out a dagger and stabs you in the side, and running.
You pull out your phone and you call Marilyn.
“Hello?” You hear a voice on the phone.
You were too shocked and in pain to say anything. You make a moaning sound and wince in pain.
“Irene are you okay.” Marilyn says sounding worried. “Where the hell are you?”
“I’m in a forest by a shed. Marilyn you have to help me. I’m still in New York.”
“Okay do you know a city of some sort?”
“I’m in Buffalo where Izzy lives, just outside the city, there’s woods and there is a random shed in the middle of them.”
“Okay I’ll try to find you the best I can, but it may be awhile. What happened?”
You are in too much pain at this point. All you can manage to say is… “Isabella.” Then all you see is darkness.

Hello hello!! Here to bring this out of the green room for you!
Sounds fun!! Have you read One of us is lying by Karen McManus? It's a murder mystery who done it sort of book and it's really twisty and fun trying to figure out who is on who's side and who did it.

I haven't read the previous installments, and I know that you preferred that people did. From what I've gathered based on what I read here, I take it this is a pretty complex parts with lots of fun layers and mystery and things
The other thing that jumped out to me is the second person! I looooove when books effectively use second person. It doesn't happen super often but I think it can be super cool. Kudos to you for trying it!
The main big picture thing that stood out to me was that this chapter was very dialogue heavy. Dialogue serves a useful purpose and it can be a great way to get to know the characters and move the plot forward, but there should be more to the chapter than just dialogue. There was also talking-head syndrome as in I wasn't always 100% sure who was talking or what was going on during the dialogue because there were rapid fire lines of dialogue.
I would recommend slowing things down a little and adding in more narration and more description throughout the dialogue. Think about how each line is being delivered and what each character is doing while they're talking. Think about their surroundings and what's happening around them as they're talking. This sounds like a pretty complex and intricate world and I want to see and experience more of that along side them! I want more than just the back and forth between the characters.
Overall, I think this could be a super, super fun and interesting chapter and I think you have some really cool elements to the story! I'll leave things there for now but let me know if you have any questions or if you'd like feedback about something I didn't mention! I hope you keep working on this story
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! And also thanks for the book recommendation I'll totally put that on my list of books to read! I love murder mysteries and I love the book I'm writing! Yeah I actually really like writing in second person too, it's a new experience for me and I actually really like it! I might write more novels in second person! I'll be sure to work on my dialogue and slow things down, so thanks for the tips and the review! I also think you should read the other chapters if you like murder mysteries and things, because that's what it is! (it's totally cool if you don't want to). anyway thanks for the review!

Hi Dogs. Shikora here!
First I really loved reading this chapter. It was really good. I like how you start it too with suspense and wonder. I also thought that the chapter was a really good length, and as we get into the story a bit more with every chapter I don't feel like stopping.
In my opinion I think this is one of the best chapters so far.
And at the end of the chapter the last sentence.
When I read this and found out there wasn't anything left to read. I was so worried. I keep wondering if she is going to be okay. That was just the best cliffhanger ever, and now i'm dying to read the next chapter.
All I could so though is that I would have liked a bit more description. But you don't need to if you don't want to. But other then that, I really enjoyed reading this lovely chapter. Keep up the good work and never stop writing.
Have a good day/night.
Your friend @Shikora.
The next chapter will be out soon! Don't worry, and I'm so glad you liked the chapter and will let you know when the next chapter is out!
YAY!!!!!!!!!
