Hello good people of Storybook town!

Today I come to you with some very exciting news - we have added 12 Storybook badges for you to earn!

What do these badges look like?

Well they're shiny of course and badge-y and they look like these:

Oooh shiny! How do I get one?
Spoiler! :
If you want a badge, you need to be given a storybook challenge which you can then complete to earn a number of adventurer credits. These challenges will be issued by storybook owners or participants to revive or encourage movement in a storybook.

For example, I might challenge someone in my storybook to have their character reveal a secret to character x within three posts. I would do this by posting in this thread and tagging the challenged adventurer. They would then gain 1-3 credits upon successful completion.

Who can issue a challenge?
Spoiler! :
Anyone who is the storybook owner or has a Novice rank or higher and is participating in the storybook may issue a challenge.

What must a challenge require?
Spoiler! :
To be a valid challenge it needs to require the challenged adventurer to make at least one additional post in the storybook and it can offer no more than 6 adventurer credits as a reward. Occasionally there will be official challenges issued which will allow more credits to be earned for a single challenge.

I've got enough adventurer credits for a badge... how do I claim it?
Spoiler! :
Simply make a post in this thread and a moderator will be along to verify your credits and award you with the badge.

Who gives out the points? Can I use them for anything else and can they be obtained by anything other than these Challenges? -Inpsired by DreamingForever
Spoiler! :
The Storybook Crew gives out the points once either you say in this thread that you've finished a challenge or we see that you have. And, these points are just for this challenge! They're made up and the only other way the SB Crew will award points will be through Captain's Challenges, Storybook Workshops, or other events!

Challenged Adventurer(s): @Rydia - @TheSilverFox - @AstralHunter - @RippleGylf - @Sheyren - @Lumi

Storybook: Mana

The Challenge: Trusting Elves & Why They Don't Deserve It

Your challenge this month is to reflect upon a time, dedicating ~20% of your post, when your elf committed a crime that has them wanted by the Pontifex. If they are not wanted by the Pontifex, they may have gotten away with something. Use this, however, as a chance to add depth to your character, and not just grit.

You will receive two points for your memory of crime, as well as one bonus point for our typical Lore Bonus, in which you expand upon the lore of the world.

Completion Time: 1 post per completionist

Credits Awarded: 2 base, 1 bonus; 3 max.

Deckhand's Challenge: ...Was It Ides or Ires?
As Issued By A Rydia Imposter

March 15th is held in absolute disgust--or absolute adoration!--as the day Julius Caesar was...well, let's avoid spoilers. *makes a slicing motion across his throat* But the Ides of March aren't to be feared, Storybookers!

Your challenge this month, however, should be.

Your challenge is to stab a character in the back. Read that as you will. For each post in which you hurt, betray, or crush a trusted or loved one (or literally stab someone in the back--let's be honest, it'll happen) you will receive 2 points for a maximum of 8 points over four posts.

Of course, we'd prefer you didn't go on a killing spree in one storybook, so you will be fairly compensated for your violence as committed across many storybooks.

Two bonus points will be awarded for backstabbing across five different storybooks.

Those active last month!

Challenged Adventurer(s): @ScarlettFire - @Sheyren - @Steggy - @Lumi - @TheSilverFox - Any participant of V

Storybook: V

The Challenge: And What if the Heavens Collided?

V is one to watch the skies and adore what they could tell him if spoken to. Your challenge is to have V sneak from home during the night (one point).

Look for Alexei's street art and examine how it makes V feel to find it (one point).

And if you're feeling gutsy, visit a rooftop with a pack of cigarettes in Alexei's memorium and watch the skies, reflecting on where he could be now (one point.) This may be completed three times for a maximum of nine points if you're absurdly crazy.

At this point double and triple posting is allowed; however, your creation of the scenes cannot copy another's, though they may be similar.

Completion Time: 3 posts per participant.

Credits Awarded: 1pt x 3 challenges x 3 posts = 9 max.

Yes, I'm vampire-desperate for posts. And remember, Storybook Town; this SB is open to anyone who wants to participate at any time.

Challenged Adventurers: @AstralHunter - @TheSilverFox - @Sheyren - @chibibo - @Nutty - @Lumi - @RippleGylf

Storybook: Pokebook VI: World Tour

Challenge: For Namesake!

Before the end of the chapter or before 30 days pass, you are to participate in a Pokemon battle. You receive a base 1 point for battling, 1 bonus point for battling a member of the crew, and 1 bonus point if you lose and learn something from the fight.

This may be completed once per person, but since it takes two to tango, the other combatant can come and receive the Opponent's Credit, which equates to two points, which may only be obtained once.

Thus, a total of five points may be claimed from this challenge if you battle twice inside the crew.

Completion Time: 30 days or 1 chapter.

Credits Awarded: 1 point up to 3 times, so 3 maximum

Storybook: Clue: Heathermire Hall
The Challenge: Like last time, I’ve made a list of challenges your character can do. You need only to complete three of them to receive full credit, but if you are the one person who completes all of them, I’ll send you a hint for next round. Only one person can do that because of numero uno.

1. Discover Elora’s dead body, and speculate why she was killed. Only one character can be the first to discover the body, so be quick to the draw if you want this one.
2. Interact with Gloria (the cook). That does not involve murder. Yet.
3. Interact with Heathcliff or any of Mr. Krome’s thus unnamed and exotic pets. Don’t you dare kill any of them.
4. Include a famous movie quote somewhere. Underline it.
5. Include a pun about blood, snow, or murder somewhere. Bold it.
6. Have a flashback of something that happened during your childhood or teenage years.

Completion Time: one post; one month
Credits Awarded: one point for every challenge completed to a maximum of three, plus one bonus point for writing a post of at least 500 words.

Note: Remember to come back to this thread once you’ve completed the challenge to claim your credits.

@Sheyren earns two credits for completing the CC again. He also receives three credits for completing the challenge for Pokébook VI (the lesson learned is that not only Pokémon but also humans can be immobilised by love XD). By being the owner of the other character in the battle, I earn two credits by extension.

@Sacredlege earns three credits and an additional bonus credit for completing the challenge for Clue. @Wolfical and @ElizabethLovelace earn three credits for the same storybook.

Congratulations for your achievements!

It's not every day that we hold a feast, and so... actually, I think we're holding at least one feast per week at the rate at which our members earn themselves a promotion. In fact, the Novice @Sheyren, who only recently acquired his Bronze Shield, showed through his grit and determination (not DETERMINATION, though we're certain he possesses that too which is why we ensured to steal him for ourselves) that he deserves a Peridot one too. As is customary for the promotion to officer, he shall be presented with his shield at the coming feast. (It's a good thing we have all this loot hidden away in the treasury. XD)

Ah, but we Dungeon Masters still not over that have yet more pride to take in our fledgling knights, for the valiant @Wolfical, so shortly after Graduating, has outwitted many a villain and therefore earns her rank as Warrior. Though she may seem gentle, make no mistake that she is fierce. Rumours are spreading that she and @Rydia will have a friendly battle in the courtyard outside the banquet hall, but unless our ancient mistress confirms the rumours herself, she will simply be there to look pretty and present the shields. ^_^ (Bet on the magical lycanthrope. ;P)
