I'm getting a pair of skates and quitting my job soon, so I'm very excited

“[(mostly) fantasy noun] of [1st of a pair of nouns] and [2nd of a pair of nouns that is supposed to sound epic together with the 1st]” is the new “The [occupation]’s Daughter” of book titles (based on my observations).

I don’t even know why I’m suddenly seeing so many of these. Like they’re meant to sound cool or mysterious or something, but so many of them together is just All kind of sounding the same.

I could make up a bunch of vague ones now, like “Throne of Flames and Ashes” or “A Kingdom of Feathers and Darkness” or “A Castle of Wind and Stars” or “Path of Swords and Thieves”

I just watched The Desolation of Smaug. Just seeing Kili and Tauriel again made me think, “You two knew each other for a good five minutes.”

I don’t think I’ve ever shared this one before, so today’s fun fact is that the term for “owl” in Chinese literally translated to English is “cat-head eagle.”

Yesterday’s story-building thought was that sea creatures don’t have salivary glands since they have water all around to moisten their food, so if a mermaid were to gain legs to go on land, she would also have to gain some salivary glands (among other things) if she didn’t want to get dry mouth and all the problems that come with that.

Me as I'm writing the first chapter of The Little Sea Dragon: "Man, Hali and Coreen are being so mean to each other (plus Coreen is a brat). How are they even friends??"

First drafts, everybody

Just finished Miraculous season 5 and I’m just like 😮

Sadly my NaNo progress is not great so far, since I somehow got hit with a triple whammy of days of social interactions (all of which are appreciated), but I did write today. Just need to put it into a word processor to count the number of words to see how much I wrote. In the end, I will probably set a very much smaller total word count goal for myself.

I made a friend recently who has gone skating with me a couple times (for which I am very thankful), so I’m at a point where I’m actually feeling ready to buy my own pair of skates! Super excited, just gotta do some more research to make a final decision on which ones I want to get.
