Keep Walking

In poetry

It's something we all have to go through,
This travel filled with pain and loss.
Tears scar my heart because I have to.
I know I can't stop and walk away from it.

You are going down a rougher road,
And I have to be here when it happens;
I need to be here to help you pick up the pieces,
When what you love most gets torn away from you.

I can't close the curtains nor close our eyes,
Because it will cut right through everything,
It will hit us deep and leave us with bleeding wounds,
I'm giving up on fighting the truth because I will only suffer from it.

I might not be able to soften the pain with words,
But you can take my hand as we walk down this dark road.
I'm scared and weak myself but I can see the light above.
It'll lead us to the better times and it's awakening hope.

The steps will be hard as we leave this place behind,
Burdened under the sorrows and hurting memories.
And I know that every now and then we'll fall back,
But at the end we will walk away from it all with new strength.

Keep walking, dear.

Okay, now I'm mad. I have read a lot of of good pieces lately and no matter how I try, I can't give them a good detailed review, -__- because I'm so speechless.I'll try to say something. I really liked this and I think that this poem can be a motivational speech to many of those who want to stop walking and just want to give up. Very inspirational. Keep writing.

A very nice, inspiring account of friendship. As your signature says, "sometimes the hardest things and the right things are the same". Very true indeed (The Fray are quite awesome, no?). The last stanza sounds really great. To be honest, this is definitely not the best you've written but it's one of the most deepest that you have. The monologue sounds very honest and really gives the impression that it's being spoken by a friend. Another very nice poem, qara. Good job! :)
