Tunes

Tunes fill my ears

Artists, genres, composers

Flash across the screen

Turning into a symphony

All have different stories

My soul connects

And dances with each one

Emotions pour from me

But crash

I stumble back to reality

And being the lifeless robot

Society has made me

I like the end of this.
I'm really a fan of the format for this. Nice flow and rhythm. Pretty to look at.

A few suggestions:

Turning into a symphony

I find this a weak comparison just because we already know your poem is all about music. When you use metaphors/similes/analogies, it usually works best if they're being compared to something that doesn't already have to do with your topic.
i.e. "Melding into a compound of ___" (fill in the blank) or "A hurricane of voices"

But crash

This needs emphasis!

But-- CRASH!

or

But, *crash*!

(I'm not sure how to do italics on here)

Also, consider punctuation in lots of places here.

Tunes fill my ears;

Artists, genres, composers

Flash across the screen,

Turning into a symphony,

All have different stories;

My soul connects,

And dances with each one;

Emotions pour from me,

But crash!

I stumble back to reality,

And being the lifeless robot

Society has made me.

you know, something like that after (almost) each line to simulate an appropriate pause.

Keep it up! Hope I helped

Hi Rascalover!

It's nice to see someone keeping it simple for once.

There are a few things I'd like to suggest that would make this a little better.

I'd like to see some examples of how the music makes the narrator connect with them. Instead of saying, "Artists, genres, composers," give me specific examples. Like, "Ke$ha parades across the screen/ and I am a sparkling goddess like her." Or "I'm swirled away in the fanfares of Mussorgsky." Give us something other than this general stuff.

Also, I feel that the ending came out of nowhere. Make it into a sandwich. Why are you listening to music? To feel something. When you are not listening to music, you feel the pressures of society on you. I get it. But make the reader feel it, not just get it. Bring us on a journey with you through your music library and then crash us back into reality, the splashing colors of guitars and synthesizers and violins gone into grayness. Show us what music is, don't just tell us. I want to go with you.

I hope that this review proves useful to you! Happy YWSing!

Hello!
You have a simple little poem here. ^^

That said, I feel like I hear this poem pretty often. There are many poems dedicated to how music makes the narrator "feel alive," or whatever. You should strive to bring something new to the table, or at least make the old seem new.
The "But crash" line feels a little out of place. For an onomatopoeia, I think it's good to separate them with exclamation points or something just to show that it's a sound effect, not a verb or some other such. I know that would mess up your current thing about not having any punctuation (except for those two all-too-conspicuous commas... hmmm), but perhaps you would consider it.

The ending is rather anticlimactic, but perhaps it was purposeful. Still, it didn't feel finished to my ears. Or, rather, it ended on a sour note. Again, perhaps that's what you wanted.

For what it was and for what it said, I think you did pretty well. ^^
Let me know if you have any questions! Keep writing!

Thank you for the review!

Hello Rascalover,
Myjaspercat here for your review

"Tunes full my ears" ----This is very blunt

"Artists, genres, composers" ----Instead of saying this, why not mention certain artists, genres, composers that you like best.

"Flash across the screen
Turning into a symphony" ----Elaborate more, make this have more depth.

"All have different stories
My soul connects
And dances with each one" ----How does your soul connect with each one?

Overall I think that this poem can use a lot of work. For one, I don't really understand how 'tunes' have to do with the rest of the poem besides what is in the first line. As well, you tell us basically everything, making your poem boring and very general. Where is the feeling in the poem. Instead of telling your reader that your soul connects with the different stories, show your readers what you mean. Yes, this is a poem -so you don't need a lot of descriptive words, but you need enough imagery to make it pop.

Basically, make it more -more. Instead of just telling us show us your feelings. Make it something deep.

Hope I helped, I'm on pain medicine right now so I'm kind of weird right now. Anyways, good luck and continue writing. ----Myjaspercat

Thank you for the interesting points!

of course, that is why I am here
