Poem #1 for Poetry Month (Sorry I'm late to the game)
Love me,
Chipped nail polish
And all.
Love me,
Roots showing
And all.
Love me,
Good Days
And all.
Love me,
Bad days
And all.
Love me,
Irrational fears,
And all.
Love me,
Trauma-filled past
And all.
Through nightmares, laughter, crazy hair days, and silence,
Just love me.

Radrook here a once again to offer some suggestions.
Apologies if i offend. It isn’t my intention.
Please feel full free to cast aside all things you deem not helpful.
But if you do be sure its true by being extra careful.

Thanks for sharing this poem about someone requests that another person or other persons love her unconditionally. A very interesting composition which raises many questions about the person making the request. First, the request itself seems to indicate that the speaker does;t feel loved and so feels the need to request it. Perhaps the things mentioned have been repeatedly brought to her attention by the person who has decided to terminate the relationship. Or perhaps parents. siblings or her kids have declare that they just can’t tolerate her,. Seems as if she feels such flaws are innate and unchangeable and has come to the conclusion that they are a permanent unchangeable part of her personality.
Some things that are mentioned seem trivial, such as chipped nails and perhaps root hairs that need to be dyed. But others are quite significant and the request that they be ignored seems a bit demanding. Made me wonder why the speaker feels that she should be loved regardless of such flaws.
Here are the things I found be very significant.
irrational fears:
Putting up with this depends on type and severity. Some fears are called phobias, agoraphobia is fear of going outside. Does that mean she can't accompany me anywhere? Does the fear involve keeping things so clean that she recoils from the slightest touch because I might contaminate her? It all depends on the fear and how it might impact our relationship.
Silence: Now this can be a real humdinger which can be used as a way to psychologically torture someone by isolating him. I wrote a short story about two people on Mars and one chose silence and was driving the other one mad.
bad days : That is a very vague term. Who is making the days bad? How bad are they? In what way are they bad? Do they significantly involve me demanding a patience that is almost impossible because of the irrational
Nightmares:
Do these nightmares mean that she wakes up screaming in my ear each night? Goes into hysterical mode? Or does it mean that she's making my life a nightmare?
crazy hair days? Well, that depends on what that means. Does it mean that she shaves her head on those days? Colors it purple? Bleaches it white? Adopts a Mohawk?
If the list were used as an advertisement for seeking a mate on a dating service, most people would search for a more pleasant personality.
Suggestion
Perhaps adding more details the repetitions would be nice.
Looking forward o reading more of your work,
Thanks so much for the lengthy review!
Please feel free to ignore my advice itis not meant to offend you or hurt you, nor is it meant to demean your story or make it seem bad, however brace yourself for impact regardless of what I have stated. That said . . . .
1. What I liked
I loved how heart felt it is. I think it also has a neat message.
4. Repidtion & Word usage
First of all that And all could get annoying and make your poem seem boring. Secant though this poem is already very much emotion packed I think it could pack a little more power. Maybe try rearranging sentences? For example take these two lines
Love me,
Good Days
And all.
Love me,
Bad days
And all.
Maybe reword those this way
Love me through my good days and bad.
See the difference?
5. Sticking to the title
Alright so you call this through thick and thin but you don't use those words. I would try using them as you reword your poem.
6. Excellent work! It is amazingly powerful. I hope you post more things like this.
4. Overall
Overall I enjoyed reading this, and I think it is a masterpeice so to say.
PS: I don't mind your being late for poetry month. Take all the time that is needed.
Thanks so much for the lengthy review!
I like it but it feels a little generic. Plus the “and all” got annoying fast. I would recommend changing it a bit to make it more unique and less of a sob story. I see a lot of those.
Thanks for the review
Better late than never
