Misery At It's Finest

In Poetry

Just being is exhausting,
Never feeling,

Head too heavy to lift,
Can’t get away from the reality we’re in

Cloudy excuses,
Mild muses

We don’t live life
Not any more

Not after our generation’s
Party and booze

Way back when
Life was simple

That’s what I wish for
Times of real living and breathing

Not coasting until we invent a new high
Until we create misery at it’s finest

I quite liked this, and you reflected the way I perceive today's generation almost perfectly. One thing that did bother me was the fact that you used correct grammar and you capitalized your lines; however, you then proceeded to not use any punctuation whatsoever. My advice, is that when a poem looks this neat and structured, punctuation should be elementary.
Aside from that detail, it's really great, and I think you've done a fantastic job.

Hi,

I enjoyed the couplet format here. "Cloudy excuses/mild muses" was great and the final couplet was very effective.

"It's" in the title should be "Its" as you do not need an apostrophe to show possession for the word it. I'd change "party and booze" to "partying and boozing" as it makes more sense as a sentence, and I'd change "Way back when
Life was simple " as it's a bit cliche and doesn't show the same attention to language as couplet three.

Hope this helps,

Jas

Excellent poem! I loved it. It made perfect sense to me, maby because I feel just like this sometimes.

That’s what I wish for

This was my favorite line because, I so often find myself thinking of the little things in my past that I really miss now.

I dont see anything wrong with it grammar-wise, and all the spelling looks good to me. Great piece, keep writing!
