God Stays Quiet

Can I wear lipstick?

God stays quiet.

Can I kiss a boy?

God stays quiet.

Can I skip class?

God stays quiet.

Can I sleep in his bed?

God stays quiet.

Can I sleep in?

God stays quiet.

Can I be pregnant?

God stays quiet.

Can I keep the baby?

God stays quiet.

Can I have an abortion?

God stays quiet.

My heart has searched you.

Why can’t I hear you?

Can you hear me?

God stays quiet.

Hey there!

This poem put me off a bit because you can not hear or converse with your God but you can definitely pray to him and trust me he will listen to you and this poem just told me that you had lost your faith or you never had one on your God but if you really want to have any kind of conversation with God or you really want to talk to him so for that you need to have faith in him. Apart from my advice or my point of view i think you've suffered a lot in your life and had quiet rough days and that's why you're just tired, exhaust and frustrate from everything and everyone and whom better then God will be able to understand that. I really liked the concept but it was a simple way of a person questioning and doubting about the existence as everyone who's in a mess would do. Keep writing!

This really hit me hard. It tells a story through very simple terms. The questions are what makes it real to me, it shows what's happening to the speaker and subsequently the speaker's struggle to find the truth. It reminds me very much of the transcendentalist worldview, searching not necessarily through nature in this case, but searching for religious truth through such questions. Very nice~!

Even though I don't exactly believe in God I love this poem! It's very interesting to tell a story of a girl and... well a series of events that occurred xD. And the repetition of "God Stays Quiet" of course made sense to the title. But It's just... an incredible poem in my opinion. I don't know why but I happen to favor this poem. Good work! ^.^

Is anyone else desperately waiting to see themselves in the quote gen?
